Not wanting to rock anyone's boat but is there any way that we could have our social/membership meeting on any other evening? Mondays are difficult for some of us who would otherwise want to attend regularly. Also, how can we get more members involved?  |

How about Wednesday evenings?
The SW folks have it in the same place every month.
We move it around.
They have door prizes & interesting speakers.

Thanks, Jeanie. Wednesdays would be just fine. How about Carraba's at South Blvd. and Kingston Ave.? It has a separate "party" room available. Have to call ahead for that but it's private. Can't beat the food-it's excellent. Another location to the South that I think has been used before is T-Bones at the lake. Good place in the Spring as you can eat outdoors if you like.
As for prizes and speakers, they went out and "beat the bushes" for those. Suggest you form some committees for this purpose. They also meet at some of the race shops in the area. We have suppliers in the area who could send reps to speak to us, just have to find them and ask.
We want these gatherings to be attended by all racing disciplines. Let's start the fire!

i agree the date should be changed - it should change monthly to a night I'm not working so i can attend - instead of always falling on a night I'm working like it does now

And I always have rehearsal Monday nights....... It could maybe be a Friday or Saturday night sometime and maybe be more of a 'late' social.....with beer. And booze. And Jeannie dancing on top of a bar.......?

Wednesdays are good for me!! (most of them anyways......wait.....no, once a month it's bad for me)
Wednesdays are at least BETTER for me than Mondays

Let me jump in with my 2 cents. Although I don't attend every social, I try to attend to the meeting to check the pulse of the membership before the next Board meeting. To try to see if we have any that needs fixing immediately. Therefore, the reason we've had them on Mondays, is that gives us an opportunity to get feedback or directions from the membership. Before the next Board meeting
Nevertheless, most any day works for me, accept Tuesdays, as that’s the Board meeting night, and Wednesday as that the IT professionals meeting and Thursdays are the SWCCR meeting night and Friday nights are my night to cook.

Almost any night works for me... Tuesdays could work if you did it the week before the Board meeting

Gee, I've only been going to one Tuesday night board meeting. Have I been missing 3?
SWCCR varies their meeting night, not always Thursdays according to mycalendar; does your IT group meet every Wednesday of every week?
Ah, wait a minute, Lobo cooks every Friday night. Then we should meet at his house one Friday night per month for good, home cooking!

Carrabas on South Blvd is not a place that I will be visiting after the last BOD meeting we held there. Their waiters could gain much needed education by visiting any McDonalds.
