So you on Team Beer now? lol Team Alcohol Yeah I figured I put all this time and interest into looking at the team stuff I could at least join one and have some fun. And since Dave didnt like my idea to run for team tu tu I went Team Beer after seeing they had an opening with Kurt coming over to the dark side.

Even though the PAX results are using the 2007 multiplier, it looks like our team did pretty well.
3m AS 121 121 Alan Schoonmaker 92 Chevrolet Corvette 34.097 *0.838 28.573 4m STX 283 283 Lance Elbertson 04 Nissan Spec-V 35.693 *0.808 28.839 6 PBS 31 31 Tony Ignatz Nissan 350 Z 34.871 *0.828 28.873 7m AS 21 21 Adam Schoonmaker 92 Chevrolet Corvette 34.854 *0.838 29.207 16m BS 285 285 Bruce Elbertson 04 Mazda Rx-8 35.920 *0.828 29.741 17m BS 3 3 Steve Shin 03 Nissan 350Z Black 35.924 *0.828 29.745 37m DSP 6 6 Brian Schmitz 03 Nissan Spec V 36.535 *0.836 30.543 38 STS 13 13 Michael Ibach 91 Acura Integra 38.015 *0.805 30.602
Looks like we like to PAX right next to each other. Out of those drivers, the ones in bold will represent our team for this first event.

Yea I dropped the ball. I'll have to push it for the next event. Maybe I can just be the permanent cheerleader.

FLR has a similar site and I usually do quite well there too. With the serious lack of Mod cars and well prepped SM, I was trying for FTD...then the karts went. Most of the adult kart drivers in FLR use 4-strokes. Fun day, good people. I'm glad to be here. Thanks for making us feel welcome.

After reviewing results, I was wondering if Adam & I really belong in AS. He was 1.1sec ahead of the next car. Positions 3-7 were within .7sec. Good, close competition. We belong in Pro, but that puts 4? in Pro. Any thoughts?

We belong in Pro, but that puts 4? in Pro. Any thoughts? I think you should do what you want to do. If you both join PRO then only one of the team members in that class will score points. The team would do better with at least one of you in open AS. Keep in mind that J. Touisant and M. Cassino were on crappy tires. When they are on V710's they are faster, and there is usually more Vette competition. I would hope that more AS drivers would be out there, specifically S2000 drivers. I know that Greg H. in his S2k would give you a run for your $. It was just one event..... but again, do whatever you would like to do.

I've known both Greg H.'s for a long time. They lived in Buffalo for a while and we frequently ran the same events. Dad's name seldom shows in results and Son lives in St. Augustine, FL (I think). FLR used to run a Pro class in the late '80s. Partly for competition among the top drivers, but also to reduce discouragement among those with less experience or car prep. I just don't want to be, or appear to be, a trophy hunter. We'll keep an eye on things.

The older Greg frequents CCR events, and Greggy shows up 2-3 times a year, depending on the car situation. If anyone knows any of your history, it's apparent that you are a true driver, not a trophy hunter. Usually co-drivers are not anyway, unless they are running in a class that has no other drivers on purpose, i.e. buying mods that don't help much but to reclass you.
We are intracompetative already....which is awesome.

Well I see that both Al and Adam are registered in PRO, this further limits our effectiveness as a team. I'm just surprised that the way I hear about it is looking on the entry list.
Currently Registered for S_S:
Steve Shin BS Adam Schoonmaker PRO Al Schoonmaker PRO Tony Ignatz PRO
So 4 drivers in two classes. Not looking awesome.

Trying to figure out pax is like counting in dog years. Team Beer was only 3.83 seconds behind in raw time, but suffers the most from pax as in a tighter spread from raw to pax than any other team.

Since Steve seems to be sleeping on the job (or in a COMA) I'd sure like to see a thread with the results..... lol
Of course, our top PAX contributor (AL) is going to be racing in PRO now, which effectively eliminates either him or I (and/or Adam or both) every event.

You guys should probably know that while I placed 3rd in AS at the 1st event, using that car as data point may not be useful. The GXP I drove was on street tires, its an automatic, it has an aftermarket exhaust and a very mild alignment. Hoosiers alone would have put me much closer to you guys even with the cold weather.
Bill (1st year SCR member) was very nice to let me co-drive his car since I was in between my Solstice dying and getting my RX8. I have been getting him involved with autox and helping him setup the car in return.
I ran CS all last year and while I was blowing away the other CS guys I was still able to compare my time to the Pro class to see where I stacked up, (usually top 10 raw and pax).
If you want another BS driver, haha, I'm looking to join one of these teams and the CCR region this year. Since it's my first event in the car I could run tire class.

I think this is a perfect fit, these guys could use a BS driver since they only have 2 right now, no need to run tire class. hmmm 7 drivers to cover 2 classes smells like a Team BEER victory in the near future. Sorry to hear the Solstice is gone forever, at least you managed to work the deal on the RX8. It will be cool to see you and Fossum heads up in your new setups.
