That would be a nice gift!!! For his wife!
And - speaking of projects - if anyone ever wants to build a garage/building in Montgomery County NC - call me and I can tell you what not to do and who not to use.

Hey thanks all. It was a good one. I officially confirmed what I've suspected for months, that my big combined birthday/Christmas present from my wife is exactly what we need for a Spring Soshul at chez Bogner! The new kegerator should be up and running in a few months, just in case anyone likes beer...... Plus, as a b-day/work bonus present to myself I've got some swaybars that should be here today or tomorrow, and my parents got me the SCCA membership that I've been so desperately needing. Now I feel old.

Oh yeah, and my mom randomly flew in for 12 hours to attend a small party we had last night, and then flew out at 6am this morning. Surprise! Now if I only weren't hung over from said party......

Knowing how I like my projects, she bought me a 'kit.' You know, much like kids' Christmas toys, some assembly required. Plus, I don't have the actual freezer portion yet, just the valves/CO2 tank, pressure regulator, hoses. Will need to find the tap that best suits me. My goodness my Guinness? Oh, and does anyone know of a welding shop that can fill the CO2 tank?

I used to get mine filled at a paintball shop, but they went OOB. I get my kegs in Cornelius.

She got me the kit from www.beveragefactory.com. Nice looking thing, just needs the beer and the CO2. Beer will be coming from my friends at the Carolina Blonde company, a convenient 2 miles from my door to the NE! Scottish Ale is my favorite, but they don't always bottle it, and at 8.5% ABV, it could be a dangerous one to have on tap!!!!!!

Unfortunatley, I am not a fan of Carolina Blonde. So I travel the 5 miles to get my kegs.

Neither am I, tastes too much like JW Dundee's Honey Brown (blech, grew up on that garbage in high school in Rochester) but they have some very tasty Pale Ales, a great Brown, and seriously, I'm going to make you try the Scottish Ale!

Tell ya what, you call me sometime, they have brewery tours and the brewpub's open from 12-2 every Saturday. Maybe we can make it a club outing. You know, the miata club goes on wine tours, us SCCA hooligans can go on beer tours! $5 gets you a tour, a glass to keep, and 5 samples. Cases and kegs are for sale right there. You get to drink while you're on the tour. I go every time we have company for the weekend, and I kinda know the owner's daughter who runs their marketing dept.

Derek sorry it took me so long to see and respond to this. So happy late Birthday. As far as the present goes it sounds like it might be time to take up home brewing, then you dont have to worry about where to get your beer. ;D
