running a big, heavy, powerful car in a hillclimb is much better with an automatic. Don't scoff, look at how many time CZRider has run with his '74 Z/28 with auto, it's the right combination for HC's. The car Mr. Bayer is speaking of has been for sale for about 2 months on ebay. It is in Montana. It is a beautiful car, very well prepped and very well kept. I asked him to send me some more photos via e-mail which he did, including of the car on course at their hillclimbs. Get this: their HC's generally are 4-5 miles in length but their corners are more sweeping and less steep than ours. The also have less vegetation one them. Would love to run one of theirs sometime.

However, the use of alternative transmissions, including automatic transmissions, and/or hand controls may be approved on a case-by-case basis. How true BUT, note the class CZ runs, ESP, an autocross designation. There you can run any tranny you like(insert risque comment here). Were he to be in GT1 or American Sedan that would apply. TT & Hill Climbs allow for both Road Race and Autocross designations. How about a gutted Miata running in CSP? Can't be? Oh, but it can, gear oil breath. All RR classes can run in autocross. An ITA Miata is put in CSP for Autocross. It can then run its AX class in TT. Remember, all rules must conflict with at least one other rule and be convoluted to a fault. See you on the hills!

...but... it's important to remember that those rules are : 1. categorically only to be followed on days that end in Y, your mileage may vary, FICA insured up to $14.19, not available in all states, offer not valid for officers, family members or members of SCCA above the age of 3 and 2. Only for your own protection. That's important... where would we be if our parents had used protection. Okay someone lock this thread before it starts to get silly. Ut oh.. too late.
