Thanks for the results Steven! Appreciate it. ..and thanks for your hard work this weekend on timing and scoring and helping make the event a success. One question... a sheet reading "Final Results" was posted at the lodge after the fourth series of runs saturday that showed the second of Jeremy Cox's timed runs as 124 seconds. Several people saw the sheet and later, as it turned out, that that was one of the only two runs for which he had times for the whole weekend. Still it was a great run and I am enjoying watching the videos! Then another results sheet for first day was shown at the lodge...it showed Jeremy's second run at 126 seconds. Because of a red flag course on his first run sunday and then having the tranny go bye bye on Elvira, he never got another run sunday. Only two timed runs for the whole weekend...them's the breaks... that's life and that's racing ... but, what happened with the 124? Jeremy doesn't care and would never ask but as it was my car and I sponsored him, I'd like to understand. That time would have put him first in class... so, can you fill us in on who changed it and why it was changed? We're cool...no problem...just looked kind of odd and it could have been a much bigger problem. We need to be sure that kind of thing doesn't happen again at future events. It would be better to post nothing until end of the day and post Official times than to post times that read "Final Results" that are not official and then change them. Drivers don't like to see results changed with no explanation given to them... I know you agree. Thanks Steven...like I said. We're cool. Just want to understand what happened so we can insure it doesn't happen again.

Thanks for bringing that up Ted. We can audit all the timed runs in the computer and see what is up. I think when we generate a report from Axware that lists the fastest time it prints "final results" on its own. It is how you ask for the report. We did have a problem where some runs were shifted one car down and later caught. We went back and were able to do a car by car audit based on the run list as cars came to the line. One car was missed in the computer. We actually had a sub 2 minute run show up for Jeremy. I told him about that. Give us a chance to look it up. We will do our best. Steve Eckerich Event Chair

Ted,
There were some timing issues around the time that Jeremy 'ran' the 124. His run and a couple of others were in question due to this, and until we could see some more times to either back it up, or prove it was unrealistic, we left it on the sheet. Since Jeremy had no more runs for us to compare it to, we could not keep it as an official time. It was unrelastic to belive that the time was correct, since both the previous times were quite a bit slower.
That being said, I do somewhat question the possiblity of him running that time, given the fact that Willie did get down into the 125's with a slightly sick car, and the fact that Jeremy is fast in a Miata. But given the timing problems that happend at that time, and the lack of data of more runs, it is impossible to agree to score that run.
In future, I would encourage any competitor that has this situation arise, please speak with us at the event, prior to end of the event, and if possible present us with any evidence to prove the run is legit - be it in-car video or datalog (traqmate) data.
Steven

That's fine... I appreciate the explanation. That makes sense. I am co-chairing Eagle's Nest and ... I'm beginning to appreciate more and more how much goes into making one of these events happen. It's not like you work your butt off on event day alone... it's marketing, Medivac, FD, crowd control, safety, dragging tires on and off the course, signage and banners, worker recruiting, transferring information to top of hill, communications, timing, scoring, water for workers, cones, spectator areas, fire bottles, water coolers, accomodations, food, sponsors, EMS, OCEC (off course excursion cleanup), wreckers, handling money, registration, tech, keeping flow of event, traffic control, parking, trailer storage, environmental concerns, risk management. That' s not even half of it ...I know. It's amazing how it all comes together... and it's obvious that people that love hillclimbs, that have cars that could be driving in the event, did not drive in order to provide the opportunity for others to be able to run. Others missed some of their runs to help make things happen when we became low on workers. Thanks for all the effort that went in to this event. It took a lot of sacrifice and work... not all the jobs were fun (like driving around in a yellow Evo... ;D Steve - next year at Wolf Ridge... I want to see you driving. There are some rumors floating around that you used to RUN some hillclimbs!!! I even heard a rumor about this twin turbo rocket A mod you are working on... ;D Probably just a rumor. Before I go too far...what class are you planning to run that thing in? ;D Thanks again for all the effort put into Wolf Ridge. Appreciated by all and can't wait until next year! Shoot...I can't wait until August! I want to see King George come put Stan back in his place!

I really enjoyed being a small part of the event this year, and I appreciate the wisdom of the event chairmen/women in seeing the benefits of having a mobile medical unit on the hill at all times. It provided swift access to the drivers who had excursions. It also allowed some of the photographers, workers, and stewards to move about the course with ease.
I thank you all for allowing me to be involved as you did.
