We had a great crowd for meeting at the Timken ICAR facility! For those that missed it, sorry but you missed a great meeting! We met in the parking lot and got some shots of member cars with the building as the backdrop. John and Paula Finger brought the gorgeous Daytona Coupe...
and a lot of sharp cars from miatas, a lovely Corvair convertible to Loti (that is two Lotuseseses...)
We had a nice pizza dinner from Stevie B's wide range of offerings (ever heard of BLT pizza?) and a tour of the operations there. It was really impressive to see the equipment and types of research going on there. We had to do regular head counts because TJ and a lot of the Clemson guys were trying to find a place to hide so they could live there! I was most impressed with the the proto-typing area... incredible amount of money had spent there. Many thanks to our tour guides from Timken for taking the time after hours to walk us through.
We had our regular meeting and recapped recent and up coming events. We then turned the meeting over to Ron Wilcox, our host from Timken and speaker for the evening on Sound Control. Ron started off with basics of sound and brought us through the workings (and failures) of sound measurement in racing. He gave concrete methods for evading sound trap black flags and ways of challenging if black flagged. Soun d Control is a gray area to most racers and his in depth info answered a lot of questions Ron spent a lot of time putting this together and we really appreciate his effort. THANKS RON!! And thanks to Timken ICAR for being our host site for this meeting.
We'll look forward to next month. Thanks for your support of SWCCCR!
