The gauntlet has been thrown... JByrd vs PDawg in a neutral car... Who will be faster?? Who will take out more cones? Who will scare small children? Who will get their pride stomped and get spanked?? It looks like after the last points event the JB vs PDawg smack down will happen!!

Alrighty - here is a copy of what was last seen on the PDawghaus thread: OKey, Dokey....for those of you not paying attention....We have had some discussion on the "opposing" thread regarding a little competition between our favorite canine and fowl - the PDawg/Tweety smackdown may become a reality at the end of the season...so far, it looks something like this: After the final points event - the two will pair off to drive a single car - preferably something neither of them are used to, or compete in. Might be a Fiesta with FWD and LSD and sticky race tires. Same course, same car, two drivers.....can a bird fly faster than a Dawg can run? Enquiring minds want to know!!!! Sounds like the Dawg is headed to the gym to work up to steering the Fiestada.... More later....same time, same channel... Anyone else have any ideas??? Post em here!

There is a definite lack of participation on this thread by a certain Bird.....has he "fowled out", run "afowl", doesn't care for our "fowl" lanuage....
Hmmm, I suspect he is developing the correct response to the smackdown......and what is at stake here? Bragging rights (of course), case of beer, dinner?...who knows where this will take us, but we have all season to watch it develop.
NASCAR has the end of the season Chase...we now have the end of the season smackdown.....

Martin Bartlett wrote: "I have told Steven that I want us to get to the ATL-region style of registering, with bar-codes on cars and a sort-of credit card given to regulars, so that you arrive-and-swipe. Then your car's bar code is read at Start and off you go. They also run wireless timing lights. If we set up a wi-fi system for timing, then we may also be able to set up a "spare" computer monitor slaved to Timing such that entrants could read all results from the screen and see exactly what was entered, so if you think you didn't hit that cone and they said you did, you could ask about it." Ref: = ccrscca.proboards51.com/index.cgi?board=solo2&action=display&thread=1142349549&page=2#1142435243With that said, I propose the following: 1. We design a competiton in which we all win - no matter which one of us wins. Proceeds to go to help purchase/pay for the above system. 2. That means we will need sponsorship - indeed sponsorship of CCR Solo - in the form of a prize. 3. Tickets should be on sale at all events with particiapants either chosing (buying a ticket for) Pdawg or JByrd. The tickets will be placed into a respective "hat," and the winner of the prize will be drawn from the "hat" relative to the winner of the Pdawg-JByrd Shootout. 4. Tickets should be priced so that they are affordable, and can be sold in multiples. Example: $1 for a Pdawg ticket - $2 for a JByrd ticket. The cheaper price should help in drawing people to Pdawg. 5. If saabstory wants to donate the Fiesta as "neutral ground," that's fine with me. 6. Last event of the year is fine with me. 7. If we want to donate to a charity, rather than to ourselves, that's fine with me. Pdawg has mentioned the Lance Armstrong Foundation in the past, and that's fine with me. 8. Relative to item #5 - no co-driving of the Fiesta with Shane and/or Colin in any events - No fun-runs - No excursions during the 24 Hours - the Fiesta is to be completely neutral ground. 9. Those of you on this board who are "agging" this competion on, will choose among yourselves whom will serve as the Chairman of the Pdawg-JByrd Shootout. 10. The chairman shall be responsible for the acquisition of sponsorship, the sale of the tickets, and the handling/disbursement of funds raised, while delegating responsibilities for the tasks involved with this event to the rest of you "aggers." 11. This event must carry the full approval of our Solo Director Steven Rankins, RE Martin Bartlett, and the CCR Board of Directors (if that is needed), and it must be conducted within the guidlines set forth by said officials and organizations.

Sounds like a plan JB. I like the way you think! If most of us will be at the next social, maybe we can spend a few minutes discussing how to make the most of this fun event.
You and Pdawg are great sports and help make this forum and our events a bit more fun.

Well, what started this was the Bird vs. Dawg trash talk. all I did was offer a suggestion on how they could achieve closure. O/C they can always take a run in each others car - and compare the total time! problem is JB would be buying a Miata the next day and PDawg would be visiting his local BMW dealer!!!! ROFLMAO!
Guess we iz the Co-chairs on this one Lagoony?
Now to figger out tix sales/fundraising. Better go ask my Wifey on that stuff.

If we are going to donate to a charity, I'd like to suggest the MS Society. That one hits REALLY close to home...
Ok... next social is March 27. Any idea where it'll be? We can start working out the details... although we have plenty of time!

We can start working out the details... although we have plenty of time! I started a Social thread so we can figure out ahead of time what we are going to do about that. MS society is fine by me, but (sorry if this sounds selfish) we may also want to see if we have any club needs that should be addressed (maybe do both). Sheryl (tirebuyer) figures she can always continue with the hot dog sale thru the year to help put up some money towards all this. Hmm, maybe we sell chicken sandwiches and see which is more popular...dog or fowl...

Yep - guess it is....but if I was sane, would I autocross......why would anyone in their right mind treat a car like that....and then, go buy more to beat up? And spend money on tires that you would use only a few minutes every other weekend? Just doesn't make sense I tell ya !!!
