Joey - come to the Dec event at Carowinds. Steve Eckerich mentioned the other night that he and Vicki may come down. As he chaired the Wolf Ridge event and knows RX-7s like you do, he'd be worth talking with... and have him look at your cage in the car.

Jump in Joey!! It is not hard to get started in TT. We are planning to bring down the TT RX7 Vicki used to hillclimb and also one of the EP RX7's we road race. I am a National Scrutineer so we can help you with equipment questions. I will be happy to speak with anyone to help guide them how to move into TT for the least amount of money. We all need that in todays economy. Just no laughing at my rusty AX skills. ;D Last time I ran Carowinds was a NCAC in probably the late 80's. Any problems getting a big trailer in their lot?

I was hoping to come see you guys at c.m.p earlier this year and it did not work out..I was ready to put this car on blocks and look for something new to race or just sell it.but I have alot of seat time in this car and I can see how I'm going to like it before I think of getting something different...maybe go help out at the more advanced courses just so I can see how things click..I tied for 3rd place this year in autocrossing but did not run enough races to get a trophy ,so that tells me I need a change for a little while..

Glad to have you on board Joey... you will not regret it. You will be in a class with some competition too! I think Harvey Cash may be running with you in a RX7 and I know of two others that run from time to time.
Hillclimbs are really something special... back in the "old days" guys that drove Chimney Rock only got to run it once a year for 5 or 6 runs. No videos... just your drawings and memory. At that rate, it took 6 to 7 years to begin to really learn the mountain. Now, thanks to modern tech, you can watch videos of every one of our hillclimbs every other night all year long....and some of us ....weirdos... do just that.
All the videos will help but still can't prepare you for the rush. Are you going to Little Talledega to get your full hillclimb license? TJ and a few others are going... might get a group to go and support each other. It's a blast and a good chance to shake out the winter bugs in the car....and the driver.
Look forwad to seeing you up there!
Ted

YEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAA.... that is TOO KEWL! Tell Milady I am so proud of her!
It is being set up for April 18 - 19, 2009.
It looks like Rod Busbee (of Swagelok) will be co-driving with TJ in Elvira, Ari Suprenant will be there with the turbo Miata named Pepe Le Pew, maybe Joey (what'cha think Mr. Sutton?) and a number of others from the Carolinas will be attending to get a TT under their belt, a FULL TT (LEGAL FOR HILLCLIMB) license and have some fun and fellowship with the great Alabama TVR gang... Mr. Seiler is our food connoiseur. I am sure he can guide us to a proper Mexican restaurant for friday night and the Mellow Mushroom on saturday... (I WILL be there this time Mark! Maybe we can get Sue to go for HER license this year too!)
I am rideless at this point... Bandit is a hillclimb car (I am almost ready to complately accept that....and Santa's bringing me new Avons for "hillclimbs only"!!!! ;D I may find a co-drive or something.... ya' never know.
