Just to keep this thread from being completely dormant, I'd like to tell you about the new SPU track record at Road Atlanta that Kirk Riddle set at the ARRC. It was 1:31.082. This translates to an average speed of right at 100mph. For all of you IT, production, Formula, etc. drivers, this is pretty impressive. What makes it MORE impressive is that this was done in a modified Baby Grand car. Just for arguments sake, Kirks car is about 1300#s and has less than 200hp. For all of those that complain about the SPU class, the "clown cars" (BG and Legends), and say that they don't have a place with the SCCA, I say "Take That!!"

The last time I ran there in my 2 ton Street Prepared car (1998), I struggled to get down to 1:40. So maybe, if I doubled the HP to say 600 and drove it better, there might be potential to go quicker?
