This is an event put on by the Ferrari and Shelby clubs. they rent 6 miles of a Nevada road for the weekend. It has a 6-7% climb on average...
If I ever get out west...

That looks like loads of fun. When I went out west earlier this year to Nevada, Arizona and Utah, the racer in me just kept thinking how cool it would be to do a hillclimb on one of those roads. Although, I don't think the National Parks System would like the idea of a hillclimb through Zion National Park.

Some friends of mine run (and sometimes chair) that event with the Ferrari club. I'm not sure about a hillclimb with and average speed of 120mph for the fastest cars...
Nevada is a great place to do those events. They have several open-road races (speed trials) like the Silver-State race. Kind of a Mecca for Corvette owners.
We tried to get a hillclimb started at Donner Summit, just inside California in that area, but the county eventually voted it down, saying it was "not consistant with the ordinary use of the area," even though they already have a motorcycle hillclimb on the same stretch of road.
