Hey Everyone, I would be derelict in my duties if I didn't drop you all a reminder that the 2009 TVR/ALSCCA Time Trial Event sponsored by COOLSHIRT is coming up. April 18-19 is just around the corner. If you have already sent in your entry, thanks! If you haven't, what's the hold up? If you're missing the entry form, Medical form or license form I've attached the websites where you can find them and make your life easier. Sign up and save yourself from the late entry fees that kick in April 4th. We also need some more volunteers to help this event go smoothly. So if you have friends that owe you money or a favor bring them along and we'll train them and put a flag in their hands in the second best seat on course. Come join us, you could be a winner! Please visit our sites: alscca.org/solo1/index.shtmland teamtac.org/e107/news.phpSee you in April! John W8 2008-09 Time Trial Event Chair

You already got my registration...c'mon CCR let's go down to Alabama(I'll bring some banjo music) and show our stuff...Saturday evening at the Mellow Mushroom is nearly worth the trip by itself but, they put on a great event and if you haven't driven the new configuration, it's a blast.

Tj and Ari Suprenant will be co-driving Elvira in CSP at TGPR. ;D
I am going down to help out but am not planning to run ... track events are hard on Bandit. I may find a co-drive... you never know!
Attendance looks like it may be a little low.. that means more track time! I think it will pick up as we get closer to the event.
Looking forward to seeing the gang down there.. and Mark, I'll be at Mellow Mushroom this year! C U IN 'BAMA!
Ted

www.thistlemeadowwinery.com/ It's the winery next door to Burgiss Barn, where we did the social at Blue Ridge Hill Climb. The sweet wines are incredible, looking to stock up on some Horse Stomp Red, Stone Mountain Red, Double Black, Gap Civil White. Need to stock up, ran out last year & not sure when I'll make it back that way

FYI: This email just came down the pike...sounds like they are going to do it NASA style...should be interesting :-)
<snip> Here¹s another reminder that the 2009 TVR/ALSCCA Time Trial Event sponsored by COOLSHIRT is coming up. April 18-19 is just around the corner. Get those entries in before April 4th to avoid the late fee. Entry form attached.
With all the recent call for changes in the Time Trial program, we are going to be doing something a bit different.
Drivers will get 20 minutes practice sessions then broken into pods of 5 cars based on practice times rather than the usual 3 car pods. The laps will be extended from 3 timed runs to 6 timed runs with passing on three of the straights with a point by. This will allow us to get everyone through more quickly and provide us all with more track time. Pit lane will still be available as a way to get empty track space in front of you, if the need comes up. We¹ve decided on 5 cars in order to speed up the event and get more track time for each competitor and to limit the amount of passing. This is all experimental and we believe the change will be a positive one.
We also need some more volunteers to help this event go smoothly. We'll train you and put a flag in your hands in the second best seat on course. Workers also now get a 20-minute track session at the end of each days event. The social will follow the workers session then you're on your own for dinner. I hear the Mellow Mushroom is nice!

If you haven't done so, stay at the newer places at exit 188 on I-20. There is Jameson Inn, Sleep Inn, and several other nice and newer places to stay including Cracker Barrell, Olive Garden, and most of the places to stay are within a small staggering distance of the Mellow Mushroom. Exit 188 is before the exit for the highway to get to TGPR and the big city of Munford.

The Mrs. & Me are at the Courtyard...Sleep Inn offers(thorugh Choice Hotels) a "mature" discount for those 50+...both are within a short stagger of Mellow Mushroom.
Also, there's a Mexican restaurant that's pretty good within stagger distance as well. We went there last year on Friday evening. It's on the northern perimeter of the hotel/restaurant area and face out toward the main east/west hwy. It's about 100' from the sleep inn

Choice Hotels (incl. Sleep Inn) also offers a 20% SCCA discount, which is the discount I've been using there. The SCCA discount is rate ID 00802155 (which can be used on the website or via phone) and the only requirement is that at least one person in the room is a current SCCA member (and can show proof of this, if requested).
