SWCCCR Meeting May 14th - GoCARTS!

We are meeting at our regular location on May 14th - Ryan's Steakhouse on Lauren's Road. We are going to eat from 6 to 7 and meet from 7:00 to 7:30.

We'll recap Wolf Ridge, One Lap of America, talk about plans for Memorial Monster coming up and the 1 day time trial at CMP. Cover any other upcoming events and then... it's time to let off some steam!!!!

Then, we are off to Frankie's Fun Park on Woodruff Road for some karting action! Price is $15 for 3 rides. We've got John Finger and several road racers ready to dominate so we need some good autocrossers and hillclimbers to even the score.


Somebodies going to get put in the wall... I just know it. ;D

Wow... what a blast!!! ;D

We had a great meeting with 4 new people visiting for the first time. Roy is moving down from Massachusetts with a Corvette autocrosser and an A Mod car for hillclimbing! We covered southeast recent and coming events and then...off to karting!

You might not think Frankie's Fun Park on Woodruff road is all that fast... think again. When you put John Finger, Dave Michel, Ari, TJ, Marc Osgood, Nevitt, Shaun, Rob, Tony, Scott, Ron Wilcox and Jeremy Cox out there...it gets very FAST. While normally, bumping or "aggessive driving gets you booted" is the rule, the guys left us alone and let us run! I think after three 10 minute sessions everyone had enough jars bangs and bruises! John Finger, Dave Michel and Ron Wilcox turned the fastest times of the evening with lap times in the 26.3-26.5 range consistently. Pretty amazing with the average about 28. Ron Wilcox stated his fast times came from Colin Chapman... who said "Create lightness." Well that may help when you have to run around in the shower to get wet RON!
