The SouthWest Chapter of Central Carolinas will hold their monthly meeting September 17th at a new location - Quaker Steak and Lube on Garlington Road just off Woodruff Road. www.quakersteakandlube.com/Greenville_SC/Along with a great automotive theme, Quaker Steak recently catered BBQ to one of our Solo events at Black Lake and did a great job. They assured me they will have enough waiters/staff and a quiet area for us to hold our meeting. We will eat from 6 to 7 and start our meeting at 7. We will recap recent events, upcoming schedule of Southeastern motorsports events, trade and sale and our speakers for the evening. Our vendor for the evening will be Sports Cars Etc. and Henry Payne will tell us a little about his business and Dread Naught Racing. Henry has been an autocrosser, a hillclimber and a road racer for many years. I well remember him driving his Blakely to Charlotte for Solo IIs and whipping us constantly. Henry made the swap from British cars to Miatas a few years back! We'll look forward to hearing from him and how he's healing up from knee surgery. Our topic for the evening will be EUROFEST! In honor of this, we are asking everyone to bring their European cars for parking out front in a special section at Quaker Steak parking lot. We hope to see a wide variety from British to Italian cars! Barry Harms is one of the car judges that assists in managing the EUROFEST Auto Festival. He will be speaking to us about the history of Eurofest, the plans for this years event (Oct. 16-18) and the marques being honored this year. If you haven't been to Eurofest, this is one of the largest European car shows held in the south and it's close... it's held at the Zentrum at the BMW Manufacturing facilities in Spartanburg, SC! www.euroautofestival.comWe look forward to a great meeting and hope to see you there! Please call if you need directions or have questions! Thanks Ted Theodore (864) 915-5052 tedagmar@juno.com

Awesome Chris!!! Glad to have you. Drive carefully on the way down!
Also we will have a representative from American Red Cross to speak about the Eurofest fund raising for their cause every year. I had a friend who lost their home to a fire a few years ago. I was so impressed that Red Cross was there immediately with food, clothes, shelter and counseling... they put the friend in a hotel room that night! I'm glad Eurofest chose Red Cross as the charity for the events.
Thanks Looking forward to a great turn out. Some people are saying they are going to bring some really neat cars. Don't miss the show! Ted

Missed seeing you at the 24hr Ted. I was hoping to finally see the Bandit in person. Are you going to the Crow mountain hill climb?

I will be at Crow Mountain in Bandit... Tj will be in Elvira trying to defend his record and title from last year. You coming Chris? I will have George Bowland running with me in Specials class... so, my chances are slimmer than Mark Seiler on a 5 day fast. ;D (You know sometimes, when Mark turns sideways... he kind'a disappears. Stealth mode Sue calls it. It's kind'a spooky!)

LOL!!! I know what you mean! Hmmm, I really do need to come to a hill climb and work so I understand how the events are run so next year I won't be so naive when I bring the F600. I was planning on going to Justin's driving event on Sunday though. I'll have to think about this one a bit. I'll make my mind up by the meeting an let you know.

I guess SWCCR is nothing like Charlotte CCR. We could get a quiet room and wouldn't know the meaning of it.

I know what you mean about quiet... our last meeting, it was difficult to hear the speaker. This place should do great and they have a wide variety menu. Something for everyone! A car show, the report on Eurofest AND members first hand experiences at the 24 Hours of Lemons last week should be a great evenings entertainment for sports car kind of people. when are the next Hill Climbs. Looking forward to coming out. Hey Bill! You are in for a treat. The next one is unfortunately the last of the year ... October 3 and 4 in Scottsboro, AL. It is a rough wicked switchback filled mountain with lots of trees, boulders and ditches. Top out over 100 mph on the long straight. If you'd like to see what the course looks like from inside the Bandit, take a look here. More info here... www.CrowMountainHillClimb.orgTJ, Mark Seiler, Ray Seiler and I will all be running Crow. Be glad to have you there! ;D Looking forward to seeing the Bezerkley thursday night, Steve!

Wish I could make it to chat with some of you guys. Sounds like SWCCR is more of the club racers. Unfortunately I have a test day thursday. Funny enough... we did some surveys and we are about 30% time trialers, 30% road racers and 30% autocrossers... some spill over into several. The other 10% are tuners and sports car enthusiasts... restorers and those who just love a drive in the mountains with the top down. We had several members in the Lemons race last week and one in One Lap of America. Scott F. road races and runs time trial, some autocross and courseworks for road racing (he's a landmark at the Petit Leman). TJ and I run AX and TT. A lot of people from Clemson are only AX ...on a college budget now with major plans after graduation! Marc Osgood, Jeremy Cox and Garrett Molzer have run Solo II at National Level. We do have a number of road racers : John Finger, Sam Henderson, Steve Cook and Steve Hampton, Keri Nowend. Good cross section and they get along really well. It's nice to have Chris drive down from NC and Mike from Fletcher, NC or Nick up from Columbia....but it's even better that they enjoy it enough to come back next month.

Hope I didn't let you down! ;D Thanks for coming down from Charlotte...I hope you can help Jake Hester on his quest for a Loti!
Meeting went great... our speaker shared a lot of interesting stories on judging and Eurofest. I know we had six people offer to help for the event! Awesome!
Thanks to Steve E. and Vicki for bringing the Bezerkley down! It is a beast! Also John and Paula for bringing the GT40. Really appreciate all who came. We'll look forward to next month!
Thanks Ted

What ever you said to the rain gods worked Ted. Didn't see a drop all the way home. Great event and I like Quaker Steak and Lube. Although a touch on the noisy side, it has the right atmosphere for us car nuts. Hopefully Jake will become another Lotus nut soon. I forgot to give him my contact info. Do you have an email address for him? If so can you send me a PM with it.
Thanks!
