I spoke with the regional manager of Quaker Steak and Lube and thanked him again for the service and atmosphere. They rock! I told him about the group in Charlotte and that they were looking for a good site. He said "Why don't they meet at our place in Concord?" There is a Quaker Steak and Lube there. I asked if they had a meeting room but he said they did not yet BUT there were plans to put one in. He said in fact, since we pushed for it in Greenville, that is in the master plan in to add that door and a giant tv with dvd player and computer hook up to EVERY one of their locations. Any store that is being built or will be built this year will have a roll up garage door to block off the meeting room from the rest of the restaurant.
It's not too bad with out the door but with the door it's perfect. IF yu wait until they build a door to hook up with them, you will find they are going to fill up booking fast. We locked in with them early and have the room 2nd thursday of each month guaranteed with no charge to the club for the room. (Gratuity is added in check but sometimes not).
Might be worth looking at.
Thanks Ted

I think QS&L would be a better theme than Hickory Tavern. Good food too... the times I've been there service has been absolutely horrible, but that has been a few years ago.
Not sure if they have a meeting room now, I don't remember seeing one.
Certainly worth exploring... Either me or Bill will check it out. Got a contact up for the Concord location?

Rich, Corporate guy I deal with is Ray Ratliff... reach him at r.ratliff@hotmail.com and he will pave the way with the manager at Concord location. Tell him you want a door like SWCCCR got.... or Ted's going to come up there with Bandit and do burnouts in his parking lot until it looks like crop circles. Ted

You just want to do that anyway Ted? lol.
I think the meeting room at Hickory Tavern is great. The idea of pushing for a better variety and cheaper food would be favorable though.
