I've been perusing the rules for FSP and I think my car could be made compliant. I have a question though the rules don't mention the headliner should I assume I need one to be in compliance?

Yep. Unless it says you can remove it, you can't. In SP except for items like the steering wheel, seats, stereo, etc that have allowances to be changed or removed, you've got to keep it.

Philip, i would think, for CCR events and most others, people are not going to flip out over a head liner. I would search, but dont let that stop from entering FSP. I would see it being an issue at nationals or pros, but not around here. I could be way off here, but this is mostly for fun, and i dont think a headliner gives you an aerodynamic advantage and it dosent reduce the weight of the car that much, maybe 5 pounds. My car is a DSP car, butit was lower then the 5" requirement for ITS so I ran EP, and i was asked WHY, I said the rules stat it and everyone said dont worry bout it, just shows you the kind of group we have. GREAT PEOPLE here in CCR.

I'll tell you, I ran CSP for two races with those fiberglass fenders of mine. Mark Seiler was nice enough to not care and understood the pricing of the OEM fenders. Great group for sure.
I would cheat a little tho Phil if you do it. I think your fine in SM and that is said on my message a little while ago. Make one, cut some cardboard, wrap it with a nice looking fabric, fasten it in there and stare in awe. It'll make that dirty chassis look like crap and you'll fix that lol.

I'd like to do this by the letter of the rules. I do not like the idea of cheating on a anything.

How about a slow 87 Golf with the wrong cylinder head? Only difference is that it has solid lifters rather than hydraulic. ;D I might join you guys for a few events but don't plan on being a real contender for points.
(see my classing post below).

Saturday I am going to a Wrecking yard that has a confirmed RX and I'll see if I can afford to bring my car into FSP compliance.

I've decided to stay in SM so I can legally do my monster brake /suspension/tire upgrade Big brake kits are legal in SP now. You're allowed to go to a rotor that is greater or equal to stock thickness/diameter (or if converting from drums, greater than inside of drum diameter), and any caliper with the same or greater number of pistons. Any tire upgrade legal in SM would be legal in SP...

It would be nice to have some competition in FSP. But not until I get some real race rubber.

Aero work is almost done just need to do something for rear downforce.... anyway here is the interior and the exterior... well I was going to save it for a surprise but I may as well... I am still thinking about what to do with the rear for a bit of aero traction so expect to see something pop up at some point.

it was absent at the last autocross. I found for daily use it was awful so I sold it to someone who will use it for a track only car.
