Hello. I'm a complete novice. I've done one auto-cross out in Nashville, but the 25th will be my first local event. I had a few questions:
Class:
My car is an '05 NA Lotus Elise Modifications: Polyurethane engine mounts, wider wheels with street tires (Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec)
I registered Novice ASP, as that's what I was classed at last time, is this still correct?
Helmets:
I have a helmet to wear, but my girlfriend will probably want to ride on a few runs, are there loaner helmets? Or will I need to buy a spare?
Thanks for your input. Look forward to meeting you all!

Hey, welcome. I think this thread got overlooked. Sorry nobody responded earlier. Here's a bump ;D I have no idea on the class but here's a link to the solo rules and classing: www.scca.com/documents/Solo_Rules/2010_scca_solo_rules.pdfI'm pretty sure that CCR has a no pasenger rule for novices. Bill will probably see this and chime in. If she is allowed to ride there are loaner helmets. We have another guy running novice in an Elise so you'll be in good company.

Correct, novices are not allowed to have a passenger unless that passenger is an instructor. I'm sure we can get her a ride with one of our experienced drivers if she wants. Novice ASP is probably correct for ya...
For your helmet, make sure it is SNELL M95, SA95 or newer. If it doesn't have a SNELL sticker inside, you can't use it. That's the SCCA rule.
Elise's are fun... I've driven Chris's a few times. Great cars! My wife wants us to get one... no complaint about that from me... once we get the van paid for!

Ok, no worries. Although....if she rode along, I'm sure she'd be shouting "instructions" ;D
See y'all soon.
