Hey guys, I've heard about autocross for years. Now I'm finally going to try it out. I have a stock '03 WRX wagon that I've only added strut braces to. Think I should still fall in the stock category. I do not have a helmet yet. Do they offer helmet rentals or have some for people like me? I've looked around the forums and the site, but haven't found anything on this other than I need a Snell95 or is it now Snell2005 helmet? If I like racing (which I'm pretty sure I will) I plan on getting my own helmet.
Is there anything else I need or should bring with me to my first race?
Thanks for the help. Matt

First off - welcome to the madness!! Many modifications (like a brace) move the car from stock to Street Touring, I think the WRX is in STX. We have loaner helmets (no charge). After your first couple you'll buy your own!! You'll probably be able to find SNELL 2000 or 2005, the 95's are long gone. SNELL M (Motorcycle), SA (Special Application) or K (Kart) are allowed. If you think you'll start doing track driving, go ahead and get a full-face SA. If you're just going to autocross or are on a budget, get an open face M. Check out Zamp's clearance section - www.zamp-racing.com/AllCloseouts.htmI have one of their open face ones (J-1), it's just fine for AX. Check out this thread for some good info - ccrscca.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=solo2&action=display&thread=2188
