Hey Guys...I know I haven't been around in a while....but I was out at lunch yesterday and noticed a couple of parking lots around Eastridge Mall that might be worth looking at for a potential AutoX site. Here's a graphic of what I'm talking about.....lots I was thinking about are boxed.  In those two lots, there are very few light poles. I know they're not huge....but I think they could be workable. Just thought I'd let you all know....in case you're curious. I know when I was more active the group was always looking for new sites. |

Been there , raced those lots about 6-7 years ago.
It was a bad lot but kind of small. If I rember though , along with several restaurants there , there was also a Tires Store and Advance Auto

Used to be a fixture on "the tour." Ran it a lot in the 70s and some in the 80s. I know we were there in 2004....I think it was the last time.
The triangle shaped area is where we paddocked. It would be extremely difficult to lock it off for an event IIRC.

That is precisely the site I proposed. Lot to the west for couse, east for paddock, roadway goes inbetween the two lots without disturbing mall traffic for flow and grid.
There is plenty of food and places there and VERY close by.
Vanessa and I go to the sake express quite often and continue to debate on the lot. It is small with two light poles, one on too of the lot and one at the bottom. There is quite a slope to the lot and unsure of the pavement condition. It could make for some nice courses and at least a good practice/ test n tune site or mini series. I did make contact with a lady a while back and she seemed very interested in letting us run an event there.
It is up to the members of the club really. If anyone finds themselves in the gastonia area, check it out. It is just off of I85 exit 20 to the south.
