The Southwest Chapter of Central Carolinas Region…
would like to invite you to our monthly meeting Thursday Night October 14th at Quaker Steak and Lube on Chrome Drive just off Woodruff Road!
We will be eating from 6 to 7 and meeting from 7 to 8:30. You are invited to put your car on display out front in the coned areas for display!
This meeting will include :
Report on Crow Mountain Hillclimb
Clemson Sports Car Club BACK on Campus Autocross – Oct. 9th
Roy E.'s A Mod car debut at the CSCC event last saturday
Petit Lemans – Scott Franklin
Eurofest Car Show and Red Cross Fundraising – October 16th BMW Manufacturing
SCCA SCR Autocross at BMW BIG back lot on Oct. 17th – Spartanburg, SC
Upcoming events in Southeastern Motorsports
If you see a kid tossing around a football in the street and ask him what he wants to do when he grows up, you’ll likely hear he wants to be a PRO football player. While you don’t want to crush the kid’s dreams, there are only 480 positions available each year to play Pro level. The statistical odds of making it that far are dim.. . BUT young people DO make it that far!
Motorsports is no different. Our Speaker is no stranger to the SWCCCR group. Steve Cooke is a driving instructor with the BMW Performance Driving Center and Skip Barber. He has a passion for racing and for teaching and I’ve had the opportunity to watch him at work. Steve will be speaking to us about careers in motorsports. There are a wide range of areas you can find your way in and Steve will present some thoughts on getting started, the good the bad and the ugly and the rewards. I think you’ll find this enjoyable and learn a bit in the process.
We’d love to have you with us and PLEASE bring a friend! We will be joined by a number of the CSCC members that are making this a part of their regular on campus meeting schedule this month! Glad to have you with us! If you need help on directions or have items you’d like to mention, please let me know!
See you Thursday!
