Hey guys I'm tryn to decide whether to order magnetic #s or reusable Vinyl ones. Anybody have any suggestions on which one will last the longest and work best in all conditions, including "Aqua-X" from this past weekend ;D thnx guys/gals Lee

I use the static cling vinyl since my car is fiberglass and they work well. You do have to be a bit more gentle with them, especially if they get hot in the sun. It is best to apply them in the shade or in the garage before you go to an event. Properly applied they will adhere at over 130mph so no problem at an autocross. Use a squirt bottle of plain water and spray down the side of the car and the back of the vinyl and slap it on. It will float on the water so you can slide it around where you want it. Then take a soft plastic squeegee and start from the center and squeeze the excess water out and wipe dry with a soft towel. I usually put them on the night before. They stayed on just fine at the aquacross last weekend also. They do take about 10 minutes to put on the car versus the slap and go of the magnetic stickers. It is also best if you have a refrigerator/freezer or other large flat surface to stick them on when they are not on the car. A large white board or mirror would work well also. If you go with static cling, I recommend starting with a oval of clear static cling vinyl as a base. Then you can use whatever color/pattern permanent sticky vinyl for the numbers. Then make a smaller clear oval and do the same thing for your class letters.
Oh, and the weigh less than magnets! ;D

WOW! I missed this post and thank you Chris. I didn't realize you were using that material. I'm going to have to talk to you more about that if I use the CRX again. Ma and I tried a static cling before but had troubles with it. I'm going to have to find them and try again. Most of the CRX is fiberglass also so magnets don't work. Been struggling to find a solution other than painters tape.
