Mark and Ray completed their first race weekend at VIR with a finish in both the CCPS and the ECR. That is a great accomplishment. I look forward to seeing them at future races this year.

Thanks guys! I know I speak for Ray when I say we learned a whole lot this weekend...like how to figure fuel mileage...The Real Meaning of Cold Track, Cold Tires...and so much more.
Ray had a podium finish locked up until my fuel calculations put a damper on his ability to stay flat out. He finished with about a gallon & 1/2 left in the tank...went across the scales and weighed in at the absolute minimum weight for class, 2255...if he'd have kept up the pace he would have used at least another quart of gas which would have put us 2 pounds UNDERweight...he kept us from being DQ'd but, had to sacrifice the 3rd place to do it...he was driving the wheels off it, too...makes a Dad proud

Congrats! You did alright this weekend yourself Chris. Thanks AJ. I did have a little bit of luck fall my way, but I needed it after fighting that electrical gremlin all weekend. Starting last and coming in second on Sunday made up for all of the frustration and cussing on Friday and Saturday. Mark/Ray, are you guys coming to the Rational race at Road Atlanta in May? What about the Charlotte race in August? Both should be great events.

Great drive Chris, in order to finish first you must first finish. It was good to see you defeat the electrical demons...did you figure out what it was exactly? Thanks for the paddock cruise, that thing's got some zip, that's for sure.
We're planning on our next event being Memorial Monster @ CMP but, depending on what the hill climb sked ends up being we may do something prior to that...still waiting for specifics. OR, we may go ahead and get the Cool-Shirt we've been wanting. After the ECR we were both soaked through our suits and it was only in the mid to upper 70's.

After lots of head scratching we thought it could be the secondary circuits on the master switch. The master switch is about 10" from the muffler and it is right behind the oil cooler so it isn't a very kind environment with regards to heat. We replaced it and everything seemed to work ok after that. I have wrapped some heat shielding around it for now. I'll look at it some more over the next few weekends and see how practical it would be to relocate it. It would mean longer battery cables and copper is heavy. I'm trying to shed a little more weight off the car as it is.

Thanks! I had a total of 2 laps of experience in a F600 at VIR when the green flag dropped. That made the first couple of laps interesting. I need to work on my lines in a few of the corners. A couple of times I was getting a little behind in the S's which can be a recipe for disaster if you are on the limits of the car.

Not to try to 1+ you chris, but when the green flag dropped for our race on Saturday, I had 0 laps and 66 other cars on track. I am just glad we started at the back. That gave me a couple laps to figure out which way to turn.
Oh yeah, a big thanks to Mike Burke for his help on learning the track!
Thanks Dad for the great experience. Next time we will be ready and on the podium. I know CMP. Don't early apex 3.
