I picked up a used trailer over the weekend. After getting the trailer cleaned, repainted, rewired and holders for tires made I'll need a hitch. Since I have the Mazda R-Package skirts, I don't want to go with the "standard" hitch that you can get from Moss, Hard Dog, etc. These won't fit without cutting the skirt and possibly the bumper. Serious Auto has a nice hidden hitch. On theirs the receiver is at an angle, so you can't see the hitch and you shouldn't need to cut the skirt or bumper. The only problem with that hitch is the cost - $289. www.seriousauto.com/hitch/hitch.htm Also there's a Da'Lan hitch where the receiver is vertical is available, for $269. See this site for the Da'Lan - www.hitch-web.com/proDescrip.asp?ProductCode=7216&OID=8 Well a few weeks ago I met a Miata owner that had helped make a hitch like the Da'Lan, for WELL under $269. Chances are the hitch would end up being under $150. Possibly under $150... Is there any interest in such a trailer hitch from you Miata owners? If so, e-mail me and I'll keep you informed. Thanks!
