Noticed the board of director's minutes are posted (at least some). Thanks for putting them on the website.
I also noticed the minutes, between attending and absent members, only show eight directors. There are also only eight listed on the director's page. Aren't we supposed to have nine, with three terms expiring each year?

The seat that was held by Jadrice is vacant. I will use the term held loosely as I have never met him, nor did the BOD ever see him except for one phone conference he sat in on. His life seems to be too busy to serve and we understand that. He was removed per the bylaws and we have been speaking with someone to fill his position. There will be elections opening soon for 2012 and I am not sure who is up this time around. Might be my chance to get off the merry go round. ;D
Serious though, if you run for BOD, please be ready to make the commitment.

And no, you can't get off the merry go round. You're doing too good of a job. Besides, you haven't gotten 90% of the club mad at you yet.

No problem Larry. Not stirring anything up, it was a legitimate question. With the season almost over we were not in a big hurry to fill the position. Give me time Larry, I will get to 90%. I just do it one person at a time so it is less noticable.  |

Isn't it close to the time when nominees for election to the BoD for 2012 are to be proposed?
Are there any known nominee's?

If you're interested in serving, this is probably a good time for you to start talking to your friends in the club. Don't worry about talking to your enemies. If you let yourself be nominated and are elected to serve, your enemies will find you. All of them. Even the ones that aren't in the club. And your ex-wife. Or ex-husband. Or both. Not to mention the girl you stood up in 10th grade at The Dairy Queen.
Seriously, if you're interested in serving, don't wait for the current board to contact you, its not their job to find candidates. Board members come from the membership. If you don't like the way things are being done, don't complain unless you're willing to be part of the solution. That's how I wound up on the board a dozen years ago or so. And also how I learned (mostly) to keep my mouth shut when I don't like how things are being done. (BTW, I LIKE how things are being done now). And if you do like the way things are done, run to help keep people who want to change things out. The worst thing is an election with only enough candidates to fill the open seats.
Now, where's Blair?

I don't know where Blair is, but what about Tony Drum. After all, his heart has never served on the board. Not this one anyway! And as he keeps saying he's now just a young guy again, well maybe its about time for a re-run  |
