I've asked for people to step forward and help out... and got only one response.
It would be nice for someone to step up. The Board of Directors can't do everything, even though it ends up that way most of the time.
If you're upset, disappointed, missing the socials - find someone that will take charge and make it happen.

We used to have the production meetings for something I was involved with at the Waldhorn in South Charlotte. It's easy to get to off I-485, they have good brats and great beer, private rooms so they can cordon us off and not subject the general public to us, and were always accommodating when we'd bring in 20+ people on an otherwise boring Tuesday night. Might be worth a shot again if we want to try to get a group together.

The manager of Quaker Steak & Lube said the new QS&L they are building/built on Pine Street would LOVE to have the Charlotte Chapter in their private garage room. Might check on that... great automotive atmosphere.

QS& L in Greenville has a BIG parking lot ... one night a week is biker week and they FILL it up with their cruise ins. They are next door to Harley Davidson Dealer as well. We had one car show this year for SWCCCR and filled up 1/3 of total parking area... about 38 cars IIRC.
They also cone off a parking area for us for each meeting so we can park together for regular meetings. I'll try to get contact info for new QS & L from Regional VP I met if you like.

Please let me clarify this statement. That sounds a bit , well , bad. Simply stated, meetings stopped. Someone, anyone needs to step up. So here i am. Just call me someone. Two other people in the club have expressed an interest in starting meetings. Would be glad to help them with this. This has nothing to do with me, just SOMEONE needs to do it. Anyone who would like to take over (or help) is welcome to. In the meantime, rather than procrastinate, i am calling a meeting. Mostly to organise more meetings. Feel free to jump in . |

A couple weeks ago, Blair Underwood and I were talking about the comments at the beginning of this thread and the fact that there was no Charlotte meeting going on these days. We decided that sometime after the beginning of the year we were going to get together somewhere in the Charlotte area, have dinner and invite anyone interested to join us. Remembering that I had read a thread where James talked about getting a meeting together sometime, I sent him a PM asking if he wanted to take part. We'll figure out when and where sometime soon and let everyone know. No complaints accepted unless accompanied by a commitment to organize the next meeting!

If you could please schedule for later in the month since we have the SW chapter meeting the second thursday and the BOD meeting first Tuesday. Makes for a very busy month. ACTUALLY, i was thinking first tuesday. Keeps the riff-raff & mail shredders away. ;D ;D. Seriously, been thinking . First meeting around last week of Feb. gives a little break from other meetings. Exact day? Welcoming input here. A day WILL be decided on by 2 days after annual meeting, as promised . (this is simply to give people time for input and planning.) Late feb we can discuss the schedule for 2012 auto-x. Ready AJ? At the first meeting, we can also gauge interest in rallys. Thereafter, input will decide meetings. i'm commited. This will happen . As for other ideas, we have several members who have shops, large and small. Care to host a saturday or sunday meeting? Just as a "for instance" would be glad to open my modest shop Stonehenge Fabrication on a saturday. large back yard, go-karts, paddle boats. |

I was wondering if you think of floating it around some. I know I would be open to having ppl over at my house/small two bay garage shop. I usually have some interesting projects going on, sorry usually Hondas. Darn kids can't get away from these things and come to me. It would be front yard parking availability though, but I don't mind. Be nice to have some good discussions about our race community and other topics. Get speakers from inside the club and out. Mark would more than likely want to come preach to us about stepping up from solo to track some day, he does a great job in this matter Bring the ideas, James is more than happy to hear them. |
