Allens Auto's in Rock Hill. Ron Allen is the owner. 2865 Cherry Rd. Rock Hill, SC, 803-366-1717. I've bought 4 vehicles from Ron over the years. Good vehicles at a decent price.... no regrets! Ron is one of the few dealers who will do right by you! Mark

O.o.. What is your definition of "Good Reliable" ? It really depends what kind of car you are looking at, how much you plan to spend and then the whole cash/credit situation.
I have personal experience at Keffer VW in Huntersville - I've bought 3 cars (2 new 1 used) there and have been treated extremely well on the sales and service sides.
I dealt with Honda of Concord on a used Element. Sales experience was so-so.. Service is very good.
I bought the BMW from Atlantic Auto Exchange in Durham - if you want a used Bimmer -I highly recommend making the drive. Both owners are long-time SCCA and BMW club racers.
No local experience with Used Car Only dealers. Although I used to be one once upon a time in a state far, far, away.
Good Luck Lee!

I'm looking for a car in a $10,000 budget that is good on gas and competitive in Auto-X (no Miatas). I found a SVT Focus in Hickory. So that's kinda the type of car I'm looking. (still working on money) so this is nothing definite yet. I'm trying to replace Red

I saw the title and predicted a free plug for CarMax. When it comes to standing by their product, you can't beat the 30 day warranty and on top of that you can purchace an extended warranty. As for cars priced under 10k, they have some. BUT also a good race car potential, I'm not too sure about. Try jumping on their website and see what you can find.

An S2000 would be a good car and its RWD. If you get serious about an S2000 talk with Jadrice and the Licursi's. They should be able to give you the in's and out's of what to look for.

Lee, search at autotrader.com and you can define price, mileage and other parameters. That should bring up a lot of dealers with reviews.

I have personal experience at Keffer VW in Huntersville - I've bought 3 cars (2 new 1 used) there and have been treated extremely well on the sales and service sides. This one I'm sure a friend of mine would dispute. He's had nothing but trouble from their service dept. He has a Passat TDI and when he asked about the oil they put in, if it was on the list of approved oils for diesel engines from VW... the basically said "What's the difference?" When he had a flat tire and couldn't get the wheel off because of the key, they made him tow the car to them to remove it rather than loaning him the tool. They also left the lock on despite VW corporate wanting dealerships to get rid of them. He's since started going to the VW place on South Blvd for parts and service and/or doing it himself. Edit: Oh, and Cosmo in Hickory is supposed to be good. They generally have more "sporty" cars than most dealerships. If you're wanting something you can AutoX, definitely give them a try.

That's the problem with asking about dealers.. Nobody ever has the same experience.
My previous employer stopped using VW South Blvd for company car maintenance because they felt they were being raped every time they took the car in for service..
Car buying is a love-hate relationship.

Talked to my co-worker.... she too has stopped taking her TDI Beetle to Keffer VW because they've screwed up the last 3 visits. Twice they scheduled her as a normal visit and had to reschedule for a diesel tech when they found out it was TDI despite her telling them REPEATEDLY "This is a TDI... you know this is a TDI right.... Okay make sure you put down that this is a TDI". When they used the wrong oil on hers last time and wanted her to come back, that was the last straw, she said. Now she drives all the way to Hickory for service.
Maybe they just don't know crap about diesels?

Richard Hunter's MINI came from Cosmo. The car had an issue or two and I think they took care of him. Hit him up on Facebook for the full details. If you see something there and want someone to take a look let me know. They're only 5 or 10 minutes from the house. Our Odyssey came from Cars Plus in Lenoir. Great to work with, when we buy something else we'll go there. carspluslenoir.com/index.htm - if you go, ask for Barry Laws. Montgomery Mazda is good. The parts manager, Jason, used to autocross and drove the old van. Michs Foreign Cars in Hickory always has nice stuff. He used to be a repair shop and had a great reputation. www.michsforeigncars.com/

I noticed Montgomery has a Mini and Boxster up for grabs, no idea on price. A glance at their website shows the MINI is $21k, the Porsche is $36k
