There are several openings on the Board of directors. I hope to toss my hat in the ring wednesday.
Wed nov 16. Nomination accepted. i will have a waiver clipboard at the dec autocross, campaining. Thank you for your support.
Hopefully i will have been nominated and seconded by then. A clue as to my proposed position on the board, I do not Capitalise i in any of my posts. i will choose to serve the membership, not my interests. i feel as though the board is doing a great job. Maybe i can help in some way. There is a lot of experience i can bring to the board, what to do with it? I promise to try to learn. One of my major goals is to narrow down what the board deals with and the general membership. We need to see (as a club) minutes to meetings. What does the BoD do? Well they float the club. But i feel the club should be more informed as how. Please let my record stand as to commitment. I AM an autocrosser. While i could not run this year i tried to be there for the club at most events to help in my humble position.
the waiver guy, james

I think Rich and I both were James's Second to his nomination... he has a lot of wisdom and experience and he (and Jeannie) have served in many capacities for a long time. I think he would be a great addition to our BOD and I hope our voting members agree. This is a great reminder time for ALL of our members... we do not JUST need more officers. We need more working members willing to step up and help with autocross trailers, event management, heading up chapter meetings, etc. We could benefit from help with membership, novice mentoring and we need more stewards in many areas. We all get a lot from SCCA and our involvement with the club. Fun, competition, fellowship, networking, advice, tech help, and some life long friendships. Please look at your life and your schedule. If you have some time to give back ... we need help in many areas so we don't overextend ANY of our members. Thanks. Looking forward to 2012... it's going to be a GREAT year! Hey James... you any good with fiberglass? I have this hot winter project....

Hey James... you any good with fiberglass? I have this hot winter project.... Thank you Ted. Over the years SCCA has done wonders for me. When i moved to New York to be with Jeannie, SCCA gave me the job i needed. Now it is time for me to give back in whatever way i can. i promise to be not JUST another member ,but to make a difference in our club. Jeannie hi-jacked the thread for charlotte membership meetings,i will continue that tradition for her in her absence as she makes a living for us. Look for a Charlotte meeting after the annual meeting. A short serious note: we need to retain our novices. Any suggestions will be appreciated, and if elected i will carry them to the board. the SCCA is getting too many grey haired (or no haired) members) we need new young blood, like Aj and lee taylor. Kids who love motorsports as i did many years ago. Sorry AJ and Lee y r kids to me. on a liter note, Fiberglass Ted? i know a little. Call me (Debroah Harry in background, call me anytime).

Thanks for your willingness to help the members James, you would be a great addition to the BOD. I just don't want to have to come down with Dean Furr and dig Spitfire parts out of the dirt at your place again. ;D Many good memories my friend from longer ago than we should admit.

Live in the same place, anytime you are near, feel free to stop by. You are safe now. All out of spitfire parts. At least the dirty ones. And yep have known you several months (about 500 ).

We need a forum topic where official candidates can make their campaign statements and answer questions!

[ Nice. It is official. Think i have six or seven votes. Now that your hat-or-non-approved-helmet is in the ring, what are you going to stand on? John , my friend, the only ground i can stand on is my integrity. In the next two comments, Mr. High suggested a forum for comments. Lagunamiata said he would post same. So perhaps i should wait. But since you asked, a short overview is: i want the membership to see what the BOD does to keep the club running. Why the BOD acts as they do and does the membership agree. It is a difficult job i am sure. Hopefully i will find out how difficult as i pitch my two cents' worth in. i intend to try my best to retain new members by SCCA being the best way to enjoy the life they desire. i intend to grow the club. How? i will wander the paddock at autocrosses asking questions. i will attend race and hillclimb events asking" how can this be better"?
