I admit to not knowing a lot about cars. I've got a 2010 Hyundai Gen Coupe 3.8l Track model. The car comes stock with a LSD. I would think autocrossing is rather abusive to the differential. Since I had started to occasionally feel a bit of chatter from the rear when turning from a stop sign, I decided to change the oil. Spec fluid is GL-5 75/95. The fluid I drained seemed very thin compared to the new synthetic I used. When taking the car for a drive after I was somewhat surprised. The car seemed to handle much crisper/powered through a slalom. I didn't change anything else except engine oil. Did changing the differential oil really make a difference or am I imagining stuff?

When the oil gets tired in an LSD equipped diff they do tend to get stiff and act funny. You are not imagining things.
