... but not sure it's for you? Read this article from Rick Burris about his experience at the TGPR Time Trial last fall. It will either convince you to give it a try... or make you certain other disciplines of motorsports are best suited to you. Either way, you'll get some laughs. WE had a blast! www.thesoutherndriver.com/wp/2012/01/first-hand-account-of-a-first-scca-time-trial/If you are interested in running some Time Trials or Hillclimbs, PM me and let's talk. There are ways to do it on a lean budget and still have a LARGE amount of fun. Thanks! Ted

GREAT READ!! Take the time to read it all. You will greatly enjoy it!
Sounds like a great weekend. Not quite the way you want to break in a guy, but I assume he is hooked.

Your assumation is KORRECT! The stories from autocrosses, hillclimbs, track events... they are verbal trophies. They collect a lot less dust than trophies but bring more smiles.

So whens the next time youre loaning out your miata? Actually ... the TGPR school in the Spring. I can take three and TJ will one of them most likely. I have 4 people who have asked and are in line... I don't charge for car rental or tires. I am hoping to talk to other drivers to allow others to drive their cars to help people to get their licenses. I'll keep you in mind. Meantime... keep getting seat time autocrossing, knock out that school, get the $26K extra you have coming and then you won't need a car loaned! ;D I have enjoyed watching you run some in BSP... transition to Time Trial and Hillclimb will be easy for you. With Second Gear Program, advice and help, we'll try to make it cheap and fun. Look forward to seeing you on a hill!

That's the great thing about this sport, it's often the stuff that happens on the way to grid that make the actual driving seem almost anti-climatic. Did I tell you about the time I cross-threaded the steering wheel nut...After the car was loaded on the trailer...the night before the event...in the dark...and not having the right size die...ended up beating Wally that year...

Did I tell you about the time I cross-threaded the steering wheel nut... Does that mean every time you turned left you went right and when you turned right you went left? Might explain your faster time up the hill...
