Andy, did the flier copy over? I can modify original post to provide link.
74 per registered two weeks to the event =. Going to be a HUGE turnout. The weather better work with us.
Mr. May, send the National Office an email requesting classing information.

Found another place the event is being advertised... www.carolinacupproseries.com/Hopefully that will draw a few more cars in from the club racing ranks!

I just right clicked and copied the flier's path and pasted it in as an image on the forums. Simple enough.

Newbie here, ready to jump in with both feet! Was going to join SCCA today but if I understand the post right if I wait to the day of the event I can join and register for the days events for free? Did I read that correct? I down loaded the 352 page Solo SCCA rule book and am sorting thru it. I have a 2006 Honda S2000 with a inlet and exhaust on it, everything else is bone stock. I guess I can run stock class "BS". I guess that is easiest class I can run? Do I need a helment? Feel so.....stupid!?!?! All I have to do is show up on Saturday Join SCCS, register for the day, do what I am told and get to autox? Can my wife come and watch? Thanks in advance for the help. Cool to have an event in NC and not Cally!!!

Welcome to the sport!
Spectators/crew are welcome; just make sure everyone signs the insurance waiver as you enter the site.
By inlet do you mean, some kind of cold air intake? If so, that will move you out of stock category into STR (I think). You'll also want to enter the novice class. There are plenty of veterans that will be around to help.

Thanks Michael, I am trying to read all the rules and regs and FAQ posts on the web site now! Information overload for sure. INlet is air box removed and just a K&N inlet installed. Still not sure if I have to buy a helmet in the next week?

Still not sure if I have to buy a helmet in the next week? I know you can replace the filter and not the tube itself, not sure about the box. Need to talk to a tech inspector for clarification. You need a Snell M or SA rated helmet. I am not sure about the year. I want to say 2005 (it is in the book somewhere). Loaners will be available. -Michael

Dagou, sounds like you are talking about the K&N short ram intake. That would bump you out of stock. Replacement of the exhaust is fine from the cat back for stock. Headers, hi-flow cat , or cat removal would also bump you out of stock.

Yep - you can use any filter in the stock box, but if you swap out the box, you're not in stock anymore.. You'll be classed STR - and like Mike said - register your "index" class as Novice.
As previously posted - you can borrow a helmet on-site.
And YES - bring the membership form to Zmax with the appropriate $$ amount and your first event is free'.

Good job Eric and all on responding. Loaner helmets and spectators are free. Headsocks are available for $1. I'm familiar with the K&N setup you are talking about. As long as you didn't relocate the MAF sensor, it is STR compliment. Registering in Novice is completely up to you but a good idea. Beginning drivers are not allowed to carry passengers except for an improved instructor. Don't be shy to ask to ride with someone or have someone with experience ride with you. There will be plenty of instructors on site.
Also, don't forget to work. If you run, you must work.
I am going to get an email out to all registrants this week with reminders on a few things.

dagou - I will be happy to chat with you Saturday morning about everything, as will everyone else here. I drove an AP1 in novice STR class last year, and there will be a few more STR S2000 drivers out there to help out. Don't worryaboutbuying a helmet yet, just grab a loaner when its your time to race. Saturday night after you realize how much fun you had, you can go helmet hunting to prepare for the rest of the season! I should be the guy that makes you sign the waiver; hunt me down after you get there.

Spectator is a problem on insurance. We have NO spectators, just participants. Honestly i have let it slide , but ideally , crew, participant, friend is really needed on waivers. Thanks, james

Thanks eveyone for responding and offering your help! Looks like I am not going to me any strangers. Really I appreciate the kindness. Having no experience in this at all is it bad to be in STR class rather than stock? Should I put my air box back on? No problem working, working should be fun too! My wife is not a big race fan, actually even when I try my best not to I scare the sh*t out of her I usually do everytime we get in the S2K. Anyway she being a good wife and she is coming to support me and meet people. So as a "crew" member I assume she will work too which again is not a problem at all. Question is can she take her car so we can use it as our pit and give her a place to chill?

She won't have to work as long as she isn't registered as a participant... if you race, you work. If you watch, you don't have to work. She can bring her car, no problem. Spouses, parents, siblings, kids, friends... everyone is welcome to come and go as they please from the site. As long as they sign the waiver at the gate and get a wristband, we are good. I like having a "pit car" to throw all my crap in.
As a novice, it won't matter a ton whether you run BS (stock class) or STR. Your PAX (kinda like a golf handicap) will be different between the two different classes, but again your novice year should be more about learning to drive, not numbers... and as always, having fun! I say leave the FIPK in and run STR.

Bstock allows race tires, so unless you have some then Id say youre better off in str anyway. If youre running novice pax then that kinda goes out the window because its based off pax. So go out have fun after the days over andyourestill worried about class go around look at budget/ mod options BS .vs STR and plan for the future.

BS 0.843 STR 0.835 Run STR and you'll get better PAX numbers anyway. This goes back to what blew my mind coming into the sport... that "stock" allows for R-comps, $10k two-way adjustable suspension setups with big fat external reservoirs, big fat swaybars, and catbacks Still, when I was in my Mini last season, I had better PAX numbers in DS instead of STX, despite being on street tires. You won't have that advantage, so go ahead and put it in STR which has street tires factored into the PAX number.

Yeah I kmow that BS cars are usually faster but I wasnt 100% on the PAX. So yeah theres two REALLY GOOD reason to go into STR anyway PAX, Cost of Tires.

05astock hope to see you there! I assume you work with or are part of Draco. I have been emailing back and forth with you them for the last two weeks about a KW suspension, some other mods and a corner balance for my S2000. It will be great to talk to you.
Thanks again to everyone else for the support and encouragement to live life!
