John and I have agreed to a Challenge ... we will predict the winners of the 2012 CCR Solo Season! The one who picks the MOST winners correctly owes the other a steak dinner. If we both agree on a driver, no points given. Some classes were left out as there was not enough competition last year to pick. While rumor has it John uses a dartboard for his picks, I have gone through COUNTLESS volumes of data, spreadsheets and statistical analysis to insure I will win. I am SO confident I will win I am willing to reveal my pics FIRST. John will post up his pics later this week... (a wise move would be to say he agrees on all my pics and walk away with a tie!) SO... without further adieu... it's on like Donkey Kong! TED's PICKS FOR SOLO CHAMPS FOR 2012!___________TEAM BEAR______TEAM BYRD FINAL Picks - 2/15/12 _____________________________________________________ Super Stock- _Chris Ross x Chris Ross B Stock - ____Randy Cogburn x Randy Cogburn C Stock - ____Richard Raley x Eric Peck D Stock - ____John Brotbeck No Pick E Stock - ____Kevin Chapman x Kevin Chapman F Stock - ____Roy Blakeney x Roy Blakeney H Stock - ____Cameron Raley x Cameron Raley ASP - _______No Pick Adam Benaway BSP - _______Nicolas Rogowski No Pick CSP - _______No Pick Mike Burke ESP - _______John Clark x John Clark STS - _______Walter Jones AJ Snyder STR - _______Steven Duckworth Daniel Blakeney STX - _______Amy Tsang Travis Tolliver X Prep - _____Jon Furr Josh Sotomayor C Prep - _____Kevin Clevinger James Farris E Prep - _____Michael Keogh x Michael Keogh SM - ________Tom Owens x Tom Owens SMF - _______David Lopez Taylor Carr Formula Jr. B - Jon Seiler x Jon Seiler Tire - _______Peter Jaworski Brian Guinn PRO - ______Michael Kuhn Adam Schoonmaker TEAM BEAR - I AM CERTAIN... I think its more like "Cognac" the magnificent.. Now before you post, John - I want you to know I'm going to run C-stock all year in the Elf-hearse, and I'm going to the EVO school plus planning to double my seat time over last year. The Raley's are great guys, but I'm going to give them a run for their money this year. Choose Wisely.. :-)

Okay... I salute Russ committing to win E Prep. That takes GUTS to say I 'm GOING TO DO IT! Stanford is saying Mayyyyyyyybe he has a shot at PRO. Eric is saying he is "going to give them a run" COME ON! Anyone willing to make a STATEMENT to help John with his picks? IF you are afraid you might stir up your competition and regret it later, I understand the silence. Good strategy.

Here is a tip... don't pick me in STR, hahaha. How do you NOT pick Duckworth in STR? John you are better off going with the tie on that pick rather than risking it on anyone else.

Because I'm down 100hp on all those S2000s, AND you have fatter tires than I can fit under m ypoor little Miata. I appreciate everyone having faith in me, but the car is just SERIOUSLY outclassed in STR to the point that I doubt even Jadrice could work his magic on it. Time will tell, but I'm not getting my hopes up for any trophies this year. I'm just gonna drive the piss out of it and have fun doing it!

Sorry Ted, but you half of your picks wrong already. For one, Randy Cogburn hasn't ran AS since th restructure AND he is no longer in stock I'm told. Quite a few others. I think John's dart board will do well. Probably pick AJ to win AM or something lol.

Ted The sky was moved to B/S a couple of years ago and remains there this year ( it was moved to ASP in the street prepared class for 2012 )
AJ I will start the year still runing B/ Stock the move to ASP will be maybe early fall when all the new suspension / brake and other goodies are fully asymbled and ready to go I'm currently at about 75% and $5,000.00 and I want to do all the changes at one time !
Ted thanks for the vote !

2012 Autox PicksSuper Stock: Chris Ross Colin Chapman would be proud…at least til he looked under the hood and saw a Toyoda. B Stock: Randy Cogburn Only time will tell if he remains in B Stock for enough of the season to qualify, but still he will be the one to beat. If he switches to ASP, he will win the Championship of the class in which he completes the most events. C Stock: Eric Peck My old friend Richard Raley owned this class last year, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him do it again this year, too. What I’m not sure of is this: will his brother Jeff drive with and compete against him again? I suspect he will, so that can “split up” some wins by the Raley Brothers. So I’m going out on a limb here, and I’ll Pick Eric Peck and the Elf Hearse for the C Stock Championship. D Stock: No winner. Yes, that’s my official call. John Brotbeck and Michael D’Amico figure to have a great early points battle, but I doubt Brotbeck will show for enough events to qualify for the Championship, while Michael will probably trade cars by June or July, and be running in a different class. You know? If Brotbeck doesn't win this class, he should be the one buying the steaks! E Stock: Kevin Chapman What could be interesting in E Stock is a name I see on the entry list for the Zmax event; that of Nathan White. I’m sure Nathan will be driving one well-prepared Miata, but Kevin is tough to beat. F Stock: Roy Blakeney Nuff said. No one else is ready for Prime Time as the season starts. Of course, someone could step up to challenge, but they will probably be playing a difficult game of “catch up.” H Stock: Cameron Raley Cameron will win again. I see Gwen Baake entered in the first event, so she could have a lot to say about it if she competes for the Championship in last year’s H Stock National Championship winning car, but I suspect we will only be graced to see her on occasion in CCR this year. STS: Aj Snyder Walter will be tough again, and so will Alex Therrien. Robert Humphries and Phillip Rodda will probably challenge soon enough. Should be a close and interesting class except for the days I decide to show up and compete. STR: Daniel Blakeney Daniel is strong going into the start of 2012, but this class could get really interesting fast. First, Steven Duckworth could come on strong from the start, and be a factor. If he’s not strong at the start of the year, he will be by the end of the campaign. Second, if Rich Little drives the Yellow CR all year……look out! If I knew he would be driving the car for the entire season, I would pick him to beat the girly cars. STX: Travis Tolliver Had to go the opposite direction from Ted on this one, but I really would rather look at Amy. If Bill Baker rolls down the mountain on enough mornings, it could get interesting. STU: Greg Pressley. That’s all. A Street Prepared: Adam Benaway The question is this: will Adam compete in enough events to win the Championship? If so, he should win, but it could really get interesting near the end of the year if Cogburn switches classes. C Street Prepared: Mike Burke Looks like Mr. Burke is driving Walter’s CRX in this class for the first event at zMax. That means he probably has something “cooking “with his Miata. I’m going out on a limb here, and I’m going to fly blind. Burke wins CSP. E Street Prepared: John Clark The only thing that can stop John Clark from winning this class is John Clark. Will he show up enough times to win the Championship? He should. SM: Tom Owens Last year, Tom ran in three different classes including Novice. This year, he can call SM home. SMF: Taylor Carr This is a tough call, but I think Taylor will be up to the challenge, and win the “Smurf” class. He says he will compete for the Championship this year, and if he shows at all the events, it will be hard for anyone to beat him. Chad Matthews and Roy Lowder from Charleston expect to be strong, but it will be difficult for them to make all the events that are necessary in order to win the Championship. They will be competing in National Tour events this year. Pro: Adam Schoonmaker Ted I like your pick on this one, but I’m afraid Michael K, Jay, Geoff, Matt, and a host of drivers are going to be taken out of the CCR Championship by the rigors of competing on the National Tour, and indeed, for the National Championship itself. Marske has a new car, but I should probably never sell him short. It takes a lot of work to develop a competition car, but I feel the Schoonmakers have a lot of their development work behind them now. I’m going with Adam because Al is closer to my age than Adam’s age, and I know what that feels like. Formula JB: Jon Seiler Wee Mister Seiler wins it! X Prepared: Josh Sotomayor Stay focused Josh! If he stays on target, he beats the Cobra. C Prepared: James Farris Who else? E Prepared: Michael Keogh Sorry Russ, but you could have other plans. Tire: Gunny Bang. [Howard Cosell voice] "Down Goes Teddy Bear! Down Goes Teddy Bear! [/Howard voice]

LOL! I would pick me too for SS . . . I would probably be the only SS car to attend most events if it is the same as last year! Because of that I'm going to go play in pro and get my butt kicked. Hopefully I will learn a thing or two and not finish in last place at every event.
