IN
Danville is a great local autocross site, and by local I mean within a 2 hr drive of Charlotte. I feel it is the 3rd best site around, only behind ZMax and Black Lake.
You will get tons of seat time

More talks of weather. I'll be there saturday. You can't control the weather at Dixie so practice up rain, shine, snow, or otherwise.

Got some super-duper-radical tires that need some track/play time...Rod's schedule got changed for this weekend & Loren can't make it 'til the 4th...Anybody want to go from Charlotte that wouldn't mind co-driving a DST car??? She will be in some ST??? class next month...The suspension parts are on order, but not yet here & on the car...So she's a little soft, but a very comfy ride on the hwy...Sat?? Sun?? We will have to play some w tire pressures...We know where to put the # for the drag-strip but not for going "bendy"...Realize it's a TnT, but I'm willing to share with someone who wants some seat time & maybe has a car that doesn't do "hwy" very well...Send a PM if you can go...Maybe later, klb

If anyone is going to Danville this weekend, we should meet up somewhere off I-85 and caravan up together. Let me know who's in. Also, looking for someone to split room cost for Saturday night(about $50) Shoot me an email m_licursi@yahoo.com

I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing about Danville. I want seat time... who doesn't... but I don't know if the tires will be in for the MINI by then.
Karen: are you planning on doing both days? If you are, I might take you up on the offer

I'm in all the way but 1 day only...Sat? or Sun?...Co-drive is good Steven, but Rod wants me home@ night...BJs is always a good place to meet @ Concord Mills by Cracker Barrel...Have been having some health problems & Rod & Loren have made me promise not to go out of the Charlotte area w/o someone along...A caravan would be just fine...Maybe later.......waiting, klb3
Stephen- maybe you could get a room w Mike & stay over...I'm sure you wouldn't have to beg a ride on Sun or back to Charlotte

I'm trying to get tires before this weekend because there's no way I trust those that are on the MINI for another 2 days of events, and the Miata is still being tempermental. HOPEFULLY I'll hear something today and get them mounted tomorrow afternoon. If so, I'll split a room with you, Licursi.. and I'll be down for a carpool.

Tires aren't in.... back ordered from Hankook. So... I'm taking the MINI up anyway. Rankins says the tires I have on it get hard as hell once they get down to the wear bars... so the performance will suck, but they're not likely to wear out very easily. I'm down for a caravan up. Just let me know what time we're meeting and where. Licursi: I'm down for splitting a room with you if you want. If you book it I'll throw some cash your way to pay half. Karen: If you're still looking for someone to co-drive on Saturday, I'd love to. I'll try my hand at "instructing" and see if we can't both teach each other something

Sat am...When?? Where?? I'll be there...Bring your toys boys & lets play...Still looking forward to you driving the beast w me on these new tires, Stephen...It will be fun & interesting...We've got her up to 305hp on the dyno now & the stuff we did was so simple & cheap & all stock [so far]...Low-end should be better...Don't get too fond of your right foot or we'll be finding you in the next county...Zoom-Zoom... lol...karen

I would like to meet at the Starbucks off I-85 exit 49 and take off from there at 6:30-6:45. It is a 2 hour drive from here, and it is a test n tune, so course walks are not that important, so arriving at 8:30-9 is alright.
I believe ths cost is $25 which was last years Triad price.
Duck: You got it, you pay for my entry fees and I got the room, and if your lucky enough you can have a few Torque Monster runs.
And to anyone coming up Sunday like Kuhn, see ya then.
Also weather says dry and 50's, but with some wind, so do not skimp on your clothes, be prepared.

Also weather says dry and 50's, but with some wind, so do not skimp on your clothes, be prepared. I have determined from my trips there last year that Danville is the Siberia of the USA. It may say 50s, but that'll be in the late afternoon. It will probably start out in the -30F range, so dress accordingly. Funny story, last year when we went to novice school there, my wife looked at the forecast and said "Oh it's supposed to be in the high 60s, we probably don't need long sleeves". It started out at 40 in the morning and we froze our butts off... had to head into town that evening to buy sweatshirts and jackets for the next day. BE PREPARED!!

I'd much rather do that as I prefer to give plenty of time to make a trip that long. Never know what kind of crap you might run into to slow you down.

5:30 is too early, it's a test n tune and course walks are not important, and it will be chilly there at 7:30. How about meeting at 6 at McMaggots, oh I mean McDonalds. And just ask about the McMaggots story, just don't ask me to eat any of it.

I learned so much(I'm still processing some of it). We tried a few different shock settings and tire pressures, the biggest difference came when we disconnected the rear sway bar. Once the rear bar was disconnected the car started to dance (in a good way). I may have to rethink all my shock settings. I learned that I need to become comfortable with a car that is unstable because it's faster that way.

I know none of what I told you or the changes we did made sense, but they all work. I don't understand it either, but who cares if your having a blast going faster lol. Such a great day with all of our friends. Worth the lack of sleep, long drive, and long day.

And lots of fun...Part of the fun was the "Italian Job" drive up & back...We passed 3 Mustang GTs that showed up @ Danville...Seemed like maybe our "Miata Mafia" was intimidating...What's with that?? Sorry we missed some of you...Next time, klb

Karen, you have no idea how cool it was looking in my mirror last night When we came up on that rolling road block. I picked one way to split and then you two went two different ways. Amazing! Glad you made it home. Our miatar have small fuel tanks and I had about five miles until uh oh lol.

Was a fun weekend. I delivered the death blow to my tires on Sunday's runs. When I got home and looked at them, all 4 corners have cords showing. Also, I LOVED how Sunday's event was run. Four runs that moved through grid QUICK and let us generate some heat in the tires, and more "fun run" style groups after that for anyone interested. We might have to steal.. uhh.. I mean... reallocate that idea for future CCR events
