Looking at the Total entries we have 152. take 152 divide by 4 run groups is 38 average. look at this and poke holes at it.
#1 Stock Novice SSm =37 #2 Sp Tire SM=41 #3 PRo Prep UNclass =39 #4 St M SMf =38
1 works for 3 2 works for 4 3 works for 1 4 works for 2
4 runs equals 5.3 hours of run time with 30 sec launch windows. 5 runs equals 6.5 hours of run time with 30 sec launch windows
5.3 equal working 1.3 hours each heat start 10am over by 4 pm 6.5 equal working 1.6 hours each heat start 10 am over by 5:15
with no down time. ;D
thanks

Any time we get over 90-100 entrants I start looking at just 4 runs and if there is time Fun Runs . I have jumped up to 5 runs only to have bad timing issues or a major breakdown on course cause the event to run a little long .

At ZMax you have to be done by 5PM or the club will be charged extra for EMS and Fire. So 4 runs is what we normally do, and if we have the time, we do some fun runs.
As for work assignments, you don't know who is going to show up until they are there. Tire class may be 9 and Pro class may be 30 when all is said and done. We always have no shows and those who never register show up.

Just looked at the weather forecast again.. Acccuweather says rain around 4pm.. so I suggest we go with 4 runs and try to get finished at or around 4pm..
Of course, they'll change the forecast again before I finish typing this post, but well, ya know..

No "R" words the week of an event , instead its an alternative to sunshine event rolling in about 4 ,

Another politically correct term is traction reducing agent. It will hit us just because i had the car detailed. If i left the car dirty it would have missed us.

I'm making a forum policy on this. I've heard this word too many times this week. Be optimistic people. This is like saying Freon to me, especially when the car is newer than 95.
I've always liked this lol.

If not cleaning a car makes it sunny, I'm in good shape... Miata hasn't had a bath since the gnomes at the Seiler estate cleaned it back in October...

I'm pretty sure the board has a "swear filter" so you can automatically change the R word into something else like the aforementioned "liquid sunshine" or "traction reducing agent"

BTW - discussing run order before registartion closes at the site on the morning of the event is a pointless exercise - you don't know how the mix will change and there are other considerations: for instance you can't have all the people who know how to operate timing in 1 run group and you can't have all the Safety Stewards in 1 run group.
Cheers, Jack Mc

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BTW - discussing run order before registartion closes at the site on the morning of the event is a pointless exercise - you don't know how the mix will change and there are other considerations: for instance you can't have all the people who know how to operate timing in 1 run group and you can't have all the Safety Stewards in 1 run group. I understand your concern , if we used an open sign in sheet like i have posted on this site in conjunction with the fixed rotating run schedule. It would not matter as they could sign up to work any heat that they were not running.
the core workers will be signed off their work assignments. if we need to move a class so we get the S/S's free would be easy.
If we got a Idea of the core people who make most events. easliy done then we could set the rotating schedule.
as to walk-up, no shows, moving classes should not un-balance the run groups by more than 5 at max. if we worry about the one's and twoes we will constantly tring to balance a fluid body of people and causing more stree than needed.
the groups could vary as much by when they run as to what class they are in. when we ran this at anohter region a class could vary by 5 to eight entries. take a mid afternoon class say CS we would have 18 to 20 entires. next event we would run them early morning and lose 5 or so. they would migrate to csp, time only, dp, tire or so, they wanted to run later. we had the same total entries it is that they would run in diffrent class at diffrent times of the day. and work at diffrent times.
take our Pro class I bet the Average entry is 15 to20 per event. with some bailing and running other events or classes.
can anyone see what I'm saying.

Doesn't CCR run novices with their base class? That is one thing I liked about my novice year with CCR.

I think that was because it was a SCR joint event that they were hosting that day; they do novices in one group.

These threads that are critical need to be locked. if your not part of a solution, you are the problem. If you want to change how the workers and run groups are handled then help the ones that are doing it, believe me they need it!

If you want to change how the workers and run groups are handled then help the ones that are doing it, believe me they need it! I have been trying for years to get this region to look outside of it's self to learn how other regions do things. But closing of ideas by locking a thread is why we will not grow as quickly as we need could. If the Co-chairs want I will run with this and do the run / work assignments for them as I plan on doing all the Local events this year. I will take the burden off them. the board is asking for help then they need to be open for more ideas out of the region that WORK. not that what we have is broken but could be polished on. thanks
