this is the month for firsts ... I was at a track day at CMP last weekend and one participant had had some bad luck with his track car and since he'd already paid for the event he brought the only thing he had left to drive ..... a Toyota Prius .... he pretty much wore out the brakes and the tires by mid-day Sun

Nope , Sonics have been autocrossed several times . Isnt it now on the Stock class exclusion list along with the Fiat 500 and Mazda 2 ?

He got home and fixed his brakes but because its a prius and full of electronics and gizmos, bleeding the brakes sets off all the check engine lights. Its not the ideal car but it will get him his license. Hes selling it and buying a better track/dd.

Its legal for the Street Tire classes , just not an Rcomp stock class and it was on street tires so its fine .

Its legal for the Street Tire classes , just not an Rcomp stock class and it was on street tires so its fine . Not according to a bunch of stuff I've seen posted online by Jeff Cashmore... Basically it needs to be lowered to meet the version of SSF SCCA uses. The way they're doing this is extremely flawed (the Sonic has less risk of rollover than MANY cars currently classed in stock, according to government numbers) but the SEB seemed very serious about this.
