Thanks to all who came out for a fun autocross weekend at Metrolina, and I hope everyone enjoyed either the autocross school, competition, or both.
If you took the school on Saturday, I hope to see you around at our other events this year. And please don't hesitate to approach any of the veteran autocrossers for any advice, we are all willing to help, and are always happy to talk cars or driving.
And please give thoughts on the facility, personally I was very pleased with the lot and its grip level, plus the extras of garage area, bathrooms and convenience of food and gas.

GREAT WEEKEND!!! I can't say this enough. The facility is AMAZING. Mike did a great job with creativity of use of the lot and with course design. Novices should not be discouraged by their times at all this weekend. That was a very challanging course all weekend.
We WILL use this site again this year.

Flush toilets and shade FTW.
Yes, Phil - it was grippy. When I walked the course, I thought it might be rough, but it wasn't bad at all.
Yes- lets go back!

I think the location is great, the amenities are great, the paddock was a bit too small to accommodate all trailers that we had arrive today, and the grid was a bit tight. I heard mention of one of the buildings possibly being used in the future, which I like. The course lot was a decent size (hey, they can't all be zMax) and it did grip well, and the design of the course allowed for a good run length.
Bottom line, I like it! If we HAVE to lose Knights, at least this is a good replacement. Obviously next year we need more seating for the novice classroom portion. And maybe a small PA system; AJ's voice doesn't carry too well in that giant warehouse. And a projector to replace the 17" TV from 1999, hahaha.

Thank you for the classroom feedback. We had more students than expected. Usually I have a loud voice, well know this, but I have been making great strides at an indoor voice. Maybe I shouldnt have used it for that setting lol. I realized this morning that I used the wrong PowerPoint lol.

The facilities were great, the lack of that generator drone thanks to on-site electricity was great, the surface was awesome, and the course design was INCREDIBLY fun! Saturday's course design with the little "how big are your attachments" kink was truly epic I sincerely hope we go back for more here.

Saturday's course design with the little "how big are your attachments" kink was truly epic I sincerely hope we go back for more here. That kink and its placement right before a braking zone was fantastic. Trying to get the right line to flat foot it through the kink and keep the car settled enough to brake in time for the right hander was awesome. Sorry to the novice that was working the course on Saturday when I went straight when I couldn't get the car settled in time to make the right hander. I haven't seen eyes get that big before you sprinted out of the way! It was good you were on your toes and paying attention to the cars on course. Hit me up at the next autocross and I'll give you a ride along to try and make up for it.

Great event, close battle in street tire, I may have to hang out there for the rest of the year DNF on my 3rd run led to me pushing the car and over driving on my fourth, but still I had a great time.

The Saturday novice school was my first event ever. I was surprised by quite a few things over the entire day. It would seem that the driver needs to catch up with the car in my case.
I would like to thank you guys for putting on a stellar event and truly missed being able to make the Sunday event.

That kink and its placement right before a braking zone was fantastic. Trying to get the right line to flat foot it through the kink and keep the car settled enough to brake in time for the right hander was awesome. It was also a FABULOUS teaching opportunity. When we were walking the course, one of my novices commented on a hard left before the big right. I was able to back up and show them how to set up wide and turn it into a straight with a fairly minor kink instead of the 90 degree left he was looking at it as. We walked through it, turned around backwards, and looked at it from where you should be setting up for the right hander, and thus where you should be aiming to be set up for the kink beforehand.

I thoroughly enjoyed yesterday's event. It was only my 3rd event ever, but it really exceeded my expectations. The course was fun and seemed to make great use of the space. Also it was very nice to have use of the garage and bathroom facilities. If the garage could be used for staging during a summer event, that would be REALLY awesome!
With 124 entries, 4 runs a piece, and getting done at 3:30, I really don't think you could ask for much more. Nice job to everyone that had a hand in setting this up!

Saturday gut-check kink ? I must have been in too many slow cars Well Duck took a couple of runs in the Torque Monster and you could go flat, but only if you hit it right and hugged the gates wall on the right hand side. And had some stones

Same with the Elise. Get the car all the way to the right and run the largest arc possible and you could do it flat without upsetting the car. One of the best elements I have encountered in a long time. You have your work cut out for you designing the next course after such a great one.

I have attended 2 novice schools this year with one more to go, I will be blunt on things i liked and things i didn't. First I thought oh brother class room time, but it was very informative. Sorry AJ for asking so many questions. I think others should use that in their programs. I was fortunate to get a great instructor that stayed and coached me through out saturday and some sunday. Kuhn was very knowledgeable in areas and took real interest in every run and how i performed and improvements needed. The two things I saw that may could be touched on. The assignment of the instructors wasn't coordinated and i saw like a merry go round of instructors, the car in front of me had 3 different instructors for 3 runs, and its hard to see the progression when you haven't seen their previous runs. I think a solution to this would be to have split this into like 3 run groups and assign each instructor 2 or 3 students per run group. And lastly if you advertise lunch included, Include it!
Over all I, and the guys I run with really had a great time and look forward to many more events

I apologize for lunch. I changed it on the forum but not Mae and I should have sent an email out. We had to change it two weeks before the event.
