I will be at ZMax at noon on Friday to set-up the course. If you can help please let me know. I need about 3 or so people.
This is only a work assignment if you actually carry cones and put them where the rope tells you. Standing by the trailer and watching doesn't count as a work assignment.

I might show up, as I have the day off work and my wife doesn't.

Lol James. You may want to note whether this is weather dependent or not. I would say unless it is a monsoon it happens. I won't be able to make it up there.

Would you guys consider help from a Novice driver? I only live 5 minutes from ZMAX and would love to be a part of helping to setup the course. I have the day off of work, so I'd have no problem helping as long as is needed.

Novices are always welcome to help. The easiest way to not be a novice anymore is to learn and that includes everything it takes to put on an event, not just driving. Thanks for volunteering!

What if we decided to say out of all the people that wanted an event no one showed up to set it up , so NO EVENT. Thank for your help but no thanks. This is not my work assingnment, If i get over my cold, flu, new- facking- monia i will be there at 6:00 to help with waivers,THAT IS my work assingment. So some people need to step up and make this happen. Sorry for my rant , but one or two people will will not make this happen.

It should be the typical five people that do it. Wear boots and gloves to stay dry guys. The weather tomorrow will be BEAUTIFUL!

I'm having to take half a day on the Friday before the Evo shootout so I can come out and learn the timing system. Fridays off can't be a habit.

Steven of ALL people this was not directed at you, or any other specific person. It was a pretty pointed expression of frustration that a club this large relys on several "usual" people to do most things. A. J is always there for the club, but could not make this friday setup. It HAPPENS. In all honesty we had enough people to set up. But what if? Just something to think about. Showing up for an autocross to see no cones, no trailer. Just a huge empty lot because the usuals could not make it. John Price hope you enjoyed your indroctination to "behind the scene" at our sport. Thank you for your help today.

James - The frustration at only a select few people doing 98% of the work to put on an autocross is the main reason that I've been to maybe a half a dozen events in the decade plus since I "retired" after many years as autocross chairmn for CCR. Its not a new problem, and neither is the frustration. I finally got tired of banging my head against the wall.

I thoroughly enjoyed being able to help with the course setup. That was really cool. Much respect to Mike for plotting the course and pointing us all in the right direction with measurements and cone placements.
It was also great getting to know a few of you a little more and I really appreciate you guys answering my nooby questions. I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow and hopefully I won't DNF on my first run like I have at all my previous events (This will be my 4th event ever). If I still find a way to DNF after being a part of the course setup, then there may not be much hope for me....LOL!

Great, now after James' vendetta post I feel like s**t for not showing up, lol. James, 6:00 am is too early for a verbal beating, go easy on me when I get there tomorrow...
