Oh, I also talked to the 'leader' of the Charlotte Cruise-In's. Gave him the rough idea that came up and he said it's something he would be interested in doing that night. So if that's something that wants to be done I can talk to him more about it. Josh, let your Cruise In friend know he is welcome to come on down and bring his crew, the parking area is plenty big for some extra people to hang out and watch. Let him know if they want to compete that would be great, but if some are a little intimidated, their will be plenty of opportunities for ride alongs. Will do for sure. He and the other organizers are working on whether or not they would like to have a meet there. He said he be interested. I'll pass it along to him all the information. Normally the weekly meet brings in around at least a 100-120 cars. And even more people than that. They could all park back in the first lot where we had to extend the grid line for the Novice school. Can we pre-register yet?

oh and the barcode gun is always out to get you when you least expect it...rule number four of timing I'm going to take that damn barcode gun and and bury it next to Jimmy Hoffa! It is most trouble than it's worth. And Eric, we will not have a circle, wagon wheel, dentist chair or whatever else you wanna call it. Their are plenty of elements that need patience that are also fun. AWww MAN! No Circle? LOL I always have fun, regardless.. Is there a bar code gun that you can run on a wire? I know that presents its own troubles, but maybe it would be more consistent without the wireless aspect??

The circle is also very rough on tires, at least one side. I did it at a Solo Pro school as well.
Barcode only keeps you from having to type in manually, which takes about 1.3 seconds. The gun beeps when it works and it beeps when is doesn't, so how do you know if it works?

Wheels are only good for schools and that is the place you'll see them. See Roger Johnson's course design manual that I still haven't read lol. I did see that part in there though.
Barcode is great when it works. Usually user errors by person scanning or timing personnel gets too comfortable.
Registration should be open either tonight or Sunday. Post will be made and stickied as usual.
