Since we have such a long time between events and the next one is not until May 28th at CMP. We are going to try a night series event on May 10th at Metrolina. If it goes well we may add some more in the future.
Also, if anyone wants to learn registration and timing this is your opportunity with a small ammount of drivers to deal with, unlike the hectic ZMax / CMP events. Don't pass up this chance for your shot at trailer work assignments and the A/C in July and August. You are warned!

The guy who run's the Cruise-Ins is a good friend of mine. I'll talk to him about it and see if it would something he'd be interested in doing. As far as the event itself goes I'll be there and I want to learn timing and registration as well

Details will be discussed before registration opens. In the past we closed registration around six with first car at seven.

I can help teach whoever timing or registration at the event, should be laid back (this is an excellent idea by the way), both are easy once you get shown it once or twice

Oh, I also talked to the 'leader' of the Charlotte Cruise-In's. Gave him the rough idea that came up and he said it's something he would be interested in doing that night. So if that's something that wants to be done I can talk to him more about it.

I think we will do first car off at 6:45 pm with registration closing and drivers meeting at 6:30, so people don't have to rush and get pulled over by the po-po.
Can we get a core worker head count on who will be there, and what you can do, and lets make this event happen. We will do only 2 run groups, so we should be able to easily get enough workers on course. It will be a simple course with minimal cones, as we have always done at night events.

Josh, let your Cruise In friend know he is welcome to come on down and bring his crew, the parking area is plenty big for some extra people to hang out and watch. Let him know if they want to compete that would be great, but if some are a little intimidated, their will be plenty of opportunities for ride alongs.

Idea for the course: Lets do something I saw at the Evo school... a CONE CIRCLE.. :-) Not to be confused with a CROP circle.

Me and AJ already spoke briefly about it but I'll be there to help with whatever, may even come down early enough for course set up (certainly early enough to open and run registration/teach whoever).
Put me wherever as usual...

oh and the barcode gun is always out to get you when you least expect it...rule number four of timing I'm going to take that damn barcode gun and and bury it next to Jimmy Hoffa! It is most trouble than it's worth. And Eric, we will not have a circle, wagon wheel, dentist chair or whatever else you wanna call it. Their are plenty of elements that need patience that are also fun.
