It pains me deeply to write this, but the Jackson County Commission has denied us use of the roadway to conduct the 2012 Crow Mtn Hill Climb.
When we first met with the Commission a month ago, it was clear to us that they had a political agenda that gave us absolutely no credit for the 7 years that we have conducted Crow Mountain HC and all of the revenue that we have brought to Jackson County. Despite two subsequent meetings, their vote was to deny us usage of the road.
We are exploring other opportunities.

Sorry to hear about this great event ending. We will do everything we can to support you in an alternate site. We were in the same boat last year and found the Dragon. Best of luck.

Is there anything the drivers could do to possibly change this outcome? Maybe flood the local news paper with positive letters for the event, or is this really a done deal?

I think for this year it is done. We stand ready to help any way we can but TVR and AL Regions are working on it. Hillclimbing has a history of losing sites and gaining new ones. I am confident that the hillclimbers down there will find an equal or better site. Craig, let us know what we can do to help!

This was a political agenda. The die was cast in the wrong direction from the beginning. We had petitions with hundreds of signatures of support. We were criticized that they were not all Jackson County voters.
The current Commission members have been voted out but the new folks do not take over until November. We are done for 2012.
We are working on other opportunities but it will be 2013 before they can be used.
Thanx for your support
