Flier by Michael Hoatson This event is being hosted and ran by CCR. It will follow all operations of the CCR organization under SCCA and CCR rule sets. SCR is using this event for their points championship. We are pleased to have them coming out with us. There will be cones set up on the West Course to simulate an autocross while maintaining "the racing line" through the corners. This is a great way to give autocrossers a feel of being on a road course without the added speed or safety gear requirements. Eric - I don't think they are going to like you in Novice anymore, lol. You need to update your Garage in MAE and edit your registration!!!

How does this work in regards to points?
Say for example I get 1st and a SCR memeber gets 2nd in our class. For his or her points total at the end of the season, will they get 8 points or 10 points for this event?
I would think they would get 10 points since they technically finished ahead of all the SCR members by coming in 2nd.

You win, and you get 10 points in CCR as well as 10 points in SCR. 2nd place gets 8 pts in each region. Just like always.

hey Bird, your slogan is dark lord of the blue propeller,
but on the BMW, isnt the propeller white, and the sky is blue in the symbolism?
just curious

All drivers earn points for both regions. Same thing happens at the Michelin event as well.

If my brother-in-law rejoins SCCA on site, does he get a discount on the entry fee? It has been a while since he has run with us.

I'm working finding details on camping. It has been allowed in the past, I do every year all weekend. Also, I'm working on a Sunday evening schedule and social. I'm just awaiting details before I post up.

Michael,
If your brother-in-law joins on site and does so before completing registration at the the event, then he will be a member effective at that time and would get the membership rate. Camping has been approved for Sunday evening. We have contracted for the gate to be open and staffed for an extra fee, that allows our equipment to stay on the premises along with the SOLO campers. There is no charge to camp but if you hook up to electricity the CMP folks may charge a fee depending on the amp draw. There are regulations for the track that are posted in the race weekend supps. Race gas is available on Sunday for those in need. The host region (CCR) will conduct a race social with grilled food on Saturday evening

I've never been to CMP but looked at it with google earth. I'm curious as to how you set this up for auto-x without making a big slalomfest.

Since only the West side portion of the course is used, the race line is usually condensed with gates and the straights have offset gates with a slalom added in long sections. Whoever designs the course will probably just slow down the normal flow.

This was the course for one of the events last year:
Yeah, there are slaloms..... they play around with the new/old turn 12/13 complex to get a few more corners out of the track.... and they'll force you to enter/exit corners in odd ways like preventing you from tracking out wide, keeping you off the normal apex, forcing you to enter tight, etc. Trust me when I say CMP events are a TON of fun!

Haha. There is some serious smack talk in this region. I like it! I only have skinny street tires in my garage, so I registered for T class. It'll be enough of a challenge since i'm getting back on the horse after a year away. donour
