A friend of mine raves about AutoX and he suggested that I get involved to stop driving fast on the street. The more I think about it the more I believe he's right. So... here I am.
I am completely clueless about where to start. Is there something I should read before I sign up for an event? Where do I find lists of events? What should a new person know?
I have a 2007 Honda s2k and am a little apprehensive about beating the hell out of it, but if it's mainly just tires and brakes I suppose I can handle that..
Thanks!

HOORAY! Welcome to a new addiction!! Our schedule is posted here. The next event is coming up on Jun 16th at the Michelin Proving Grounds in Laurens, SC... about 2.5h south of Charlotte. Long drive, but it's supposed to be an awesome site and well worth it. Beforehand.... know what class your car is going to be in. Make a list of your mods and someone around here will be able to help get it properly classed. Since it's an S2000, you're probably going to be in STR. Lots of possible mods there and a HUGE field of S2000s at most events. Before you come out, just make sure your car is in proper working order... working brakes and seatbelt, battery securely tied down, lugnuts properly torqued with no play in the wheel if shaken, etc. There's not a lot to it... register online to make things easier, then once on site check in at registration, put some numbers on your car, run it through tech, and you're good to go. And if you ask, someone will gladly walk you through all that. Hope to see you around. After your first run, I guarantee that apprehension will be replaced with giddy joy
