For the Hillclimb, we are growing our list of sponsors rapidly. I will be announcing many of our sponsors next week and what they are doing to help us. These are companies (like Appalachian Tire) who are awesome to help us out. There's a few surprises in store! We have some other companies that wanted to help out but don't have big money or tires to give away. A good example is Huddle House of Robbinsville. These nice people have agreed to feed 60 workers breakfast at the top of the hill at 7 AM SATURDAY and SUNDAY. And I mean FEED... not bearclaws, fruit and granola bars. I would bring an appetite if I were you! We will be doing something special for them... we LOVE us some Huddle House!!! There are also some smaller sponsors... local businesses that are HILLCLIMB Supporters. Working with the Chamber of Commerce, we offered those local businesses : a sign with their name on it in the paddock, their name on programs, a mention at driver's meetings, their company name on the side of a race car at the hillclimb, their picture taken and framed of the owner standing with the driver and car for their place of business AND IF their driver wins their class, they will get a duplicate trophy for their place of business. We offered this for a small donation to support the hillclimb and the Chamber of Commerce went to work knocking on doors. Ladies and Gentlemen, I am PROUD to announce, we have 12 local companies that have chosen to support our hillclimb! Now, I need 12 volunteers who would be willing to spare a place on both sides of their car for a vinyl decal, be willing to greet the sponsor, get a picture taken with them and try to go WIN THEM A TROPHY! ;D So far, I have already received word from 4 drivers who are willing to help with this. If you would be willing, please let me know as soon as you can. I will have the vinyls ready at registration... they can be removed after the event.. or keep them for the Fall Hillclimb if you like! I also need about 4 volunteers for the Junior Crew Chief Program... we will provide you with a high school student, give him a hat, ear plugs and gloves and cover his lunches. He is there to assist you with belts, getting car to line, learn a little about racing and enjoy the event with you both days. (They will not be assisting with re-fueling.. that is YOUR responsibility but they can hold the mandatory Fire Extinguisher.) Again, if this is something you'd like to help with, let me know by email. These are the things that make the event special for us and for Graham County. This will be an awesome event... thanks so much to drivers and workers who have already signed up. We are going to have a LOT of fun at the DRAGON! See you there! Ted email me at : ted@ccrscca.com

I hear there is a diner in town that needs to sponsor a car, think it was the silver SPOON or something like that.

Ted. put me down for the sponsors support. Let me know what to do and when. Blair THANKS Blair! Appreciate it... we've had a number of drivers step up and still need a few more. This may seem like no big deal to a driver/car owner but to some of these local businesses... it IS! Having that picture on the wall of you and the car with their logo on it (and a trophy if you deliver) is a weekly reminder of a great event and creates desire to be a part of the next one! Some of these sponsors may turn into more "long term " arrangements for you. We have several drivers who are coming by themselves... having a Junior Crew Chief around can make life a lot easier getting in and out and to the line. Last year at Crow Mountain Hillclimb, I was sitting in paddock belted up in Jedi...revved up, ready to go... and realized one of my gloves fell off the steering wheel and to the side of the car. I was going to have to undo belts and climb out for a glove... and I saw Mark Rothermel walking by. I waved at him for help... and he smiled, waved back and kept walking. ;D He thought I was just being friendly. Fortunately, Darryl DesMarteau saw what was going on and stepped over to help. Getting young people involved is a part of keeping our sport alive and growing... seeing Lance Russell's son (Lane) signed up to run in the Opel made my week! Lot of hillclimbers started off young hanging around Chimney Rock... Heyward Wagner, Jeremy Cox and Ted Theodore... to name a few! Let's keep the pipeline of new talent open... volunteer for a Junior Crew Chief TODAY!

Ted, I'm happy to do what I can. If someone wants their name on a car, I volunteer. It won't be the "clown vomit" body from last year, though. Looks like I'll be running the silver body that I ran at CMP at the Buck Muse race. I'll make room on the fenders for their decals. :-) Scott

I would be happy to add vinyl. I have never been to Robbinsville so dont have any connection to the sponsors but will be staying at the Simple Life Campground and the guy there said he paid to sponsor a car. My car is a brown/copper color with bright green & silver numbers so any bright color would show up well.

Ball, We have courseworkers lining the 2.4 mile road we race on... no car ever leaves the eye of some courseworker so we can respond and shut down the course if they have trouble. We move workers around on the hill so they get different views and we put them with experienced workers so they can learn some at the same time. The workers are a REAL part of our event.. and we appreciate them! Workers get all food and accommodations taken care of we have some nifty freebies to draw for as well. The sponsors are larger companies and local companies that want to help with the event. All of Graham County and Robbinsville has been wonderful to support and work with us to make this event happen. Come on up!

WELL... we have some NEWS! We now have 20...yes ... I said TWENTY sponsors and many of them are local businesses that paid to have their name on the side of a car! They are REALLY getting after this and I am thrilled with response. I need four more drivers willing to give us some room on the side of their cars for this event! The money and donations from these sponsors will cover worker accommodations, permits from Forest Services and expenses that make this event happen! ALL sponsors will get a picture of you and them standing beside your car. If you win your class, the sponsor also will get a duplicate trophy for their place of business. Ted, I can handle some more stickerage for the cause. I can't guarantee anything like a class win - no even mathematically possible unless we divide the Scandanavian People from the Scots-Irish People in SPO

THANKS Scott! Appreciate it man! ;D Glad to help out Ted - sounds like the community is really behind us in Robbinsville. Duly noted in light of other recent developments. Hey - I am about to PM you on a vinyl graphic need of mine - I am thinking that you know a decent vendor who will be delivering your sponsor decals?

Are all the sponsors covered or should I say is each sponsor covering a car? I've got a hood, top and trunk that can handle some vinyl to cover the oxidation...
