I towed the Elise from Charlotte to Aspen, Colorado for a 4 day weekend which included a Lotus Car show, a Lotus Autocross, and a Lotus Track day. About 30 hours each way over 2.5 days driving by myself. Was averaging around 8 MPG and having to stop every two hours to fill up the truck.

I thought about driving the Elise out there instead of towing, but the thought of 12+ hour days in a carbon fiber race seat with full rib and thigh surrounds just didn't seem like a good idea!

The race seat I had in the Neon was the most comfortable seat I ever sat in ... I would have drove it to California comfortably .

I once drove an SSB Neon ACR from Milwaukee, WI to Rock Hill, SC. It had a Kirky aluminum seat bolted to the floor and no muffler. Just about any car with a VIN is street legal in South Carolina.

Chris Cline and I drove the STX car back from a tour win in Blytheville (690miles) WITH 4, 265mm wheels/tires in the back seat.
