2 days ago the 90th Pike's Peak Hillclimb had to be officially postponed due to the forest fires in Colorado Springs...They are mtg in 2 wks to see IF it can be rescheduled yet this yr...This was to be the 1st running on the TOTALLY PAVED road to the summit & there was alot of anticipation for this event...We are glad we got refundable tickets, the extra $$ saved us a small fortune...
1,000s of folks have lost everything & these fires are not anywhere near contained...we've spent alot of time in Colorado...It leaves us broken hearted to see all this devastation...
All the super-heated air traveling east from those fires, well, it's burning us all up...When Yellowstone burned a few yrs back, the upper midwest was a dust-bowl from Montana all the way to the Great Lakes...The old virgin forest will be mostly gone, but it will revive & come back strong & beautiful...Houses & businesses can be rebuilt...Right now though, all the people that are suffering, & helping, need our support & our prayers...R&K
