I went up to the Triad event at Danville Va. First off i want to say that this was my first event with triad and I enjoyed it very much. I often say that I am always judging every region and how good the people are. I must say that the members at Triad but a new step to the top of my ladder of greatness. I was out on course working when there was a downpour and all my windows and sunroof were open. After the laps were finished and i was walking back to my car sure that id be having a swimming pool for my ride back to Tega Cay, I see 2 guys I had yet to meet, standing there in the pouring rain holding umbrellas over my car to prevent rain from getting in, These guys were drenched just like me. Thanks guys, Shows you how close the family of AutoX is. I don't know of any sport where you can attend with out ever knowing one person and be treated like you have been coming for years. This Buds for you Mini Defenders from the rain! Attachments:

Triad is full of great people; I love running with them up in Winston Salem. I can't believe you haven't been out to any of the Dixie/LJVM events so far this year!

The one on the left is Daniel Wendel. I can't tell who the one on the right is, though. And yes... the Triad guys are AWESOME!

Pretty cool of those guys to do that. At most events it is safe to leave your keys on the dash so in the event of rain etc. someone can take care of it for you. I wouldn't recommend it at the 24 hr event though. You might come back to find your odometer changed and some tire tread missing!

I love the fact that the I can leave my car unlocked, windows down, and even the keys in it and not have to worry about it at all. One of the safest places I know for a car to be left. If only the rest of the world viewed cars the way autocrossers do. If I see certain Lotus with it's keys in the car at the 24 Hour I might have to have some touring laps so to speak

Triad is a great group and this sport is full of nice people watching out for each other. Awesome story.
I always leave my key in the ignition, even though e car is all manual. I've rolled up windows and tops before with weather threatening or present. People are grateful for these actions even though your just being kind. Words from the great Rankins, "I can leave the too down, the key in e ignition, my wallet in the cup holder, a $100 bill on the dash and not worry about any of it at an autocross. Everything will be there hours later when I get back to the car." That is a true story also.

Boy do i have stories about triad, some of them off color.Remember running one event with blue ridge region- scca, they treated me like a long lost cousin, fantastic!

That BMW is nicely set up and ya drove it well! Hope to see y'all at the Dixie 24 hr Chris Cline's BMW? I'm told I should have seen it when he still had the TC Klines on it... before he switched to Moton... even MORE impressive! And yeah, they drive the hell out of that BMW... it's the car that took me down at the Sneed Speed Shootout! And I'm fairly certain they'll still be in Lincoln or on the way back when the 24h is occurring... so probably no Ingram there.

Duckles (sp casino?), it was Cline's car. Sunday was my first time driving the car this year and it's getting close to being 2010 fast just a few more tweaks! We'll see how Toledo goes next weekend.
Travis, it was fun racing with you! you drove exceptionally well, especially for someone newer to the sport! We're currently planning on making a stop at the 24hr for a few runs on the way home from nationals. It's about 19.5hrs from Lincoln hammering the whole way, so no promises. Hope to see you then though!

The Triad Guys are pretty great guys and support our events very well. I hope in the future we can get more CCR people involved with the events they run, especially Danville. This place will truly make you a better autocrosser, giving you the reps of a high speed runway course, in which Danville always provides. Here are some video showing how good of an autocross site Danville really is. This is my fastest run, watch and find out why this course was awesome, well for the first 50 seconds of the video it was awesome, but than the course sucked! Damn you Hodges Here is my fastest clean run at the Danville Classic GP.

Anytime, The guy on the right is Todd S.
We would have moved my tent over it but it was being held down by my tires were holding the poles down.
