Well I am a direct competitor with you joe and I for one have no issues with you running stx. I am sure tad Would feel the same way. I think you should finished out the year nstx and then after the season we can see how scca calculates things. Now provided you got r compounds that could make up the difference on the change in Pax calculations. But if your going to run same tires, I think stx is appropriate. Just my 2 cent. Just don't be surprised if I change the magnets at the next autox from cs to stx Oh and by the way. I'm just good on a short course but ask mike L he will tell ya I have light years of improvement to make. In long courses you spank me. (ie black lake and zmax)

Thanks for being cool about it Travis, but I'll just see if I can find some used r-comps and finish the season in CS. Hopefully, I can find something halfway decent and still do okay. It will be interesting to see how I do on r-comps anyway. From there I ought to be able to decide which class i want to compete in next year.

I know r-comps aren't the best idea for my skill level, but my curiosity is getting the better of me. Hopefully the SCCA will officially declare the Street Touring class for the BRZ/FRS soon. I really would prefer to run a Street Touring class in the long run, but not if they class it in STR with you S2000 guys.

Then you would be the first roadster with a back seat

The old 260/280Z had backseats. So did the Porsche 924/944/968. Those are all in STR.

Then you would be the first roadster with a back seat Hopefully the 2014 FRS won't have a worthless back seat, and actually be a true sports car like it should. You have about 9mm between the front and back seats.

You have about 9mm between the front and back seats. Think of it as a "package shelf with seatbelts". The backseat in my MINI is much the same

So would a gp mini be Str? It has no backseat from factory

Yes but it's not like a gtr where it's low production. And rare. It's just a upgrade off a base model car

But the GP IS rare. If I'm not mistaken there are less than 400 of them in America. I've only ever seen that one at MINI Takes the States. I just checked the rule book, and sure enough, it's a DSP car.
