I really want to run this event, but I got a bunch of crap going on Wednesday and won't be able to get to Metrolina until right at 7:00. I guess I'll go ahead and register and hope it all works out.

Joe. We can probably let you run second if it would help you out. No need to tech.

Ha, ha, you guys are hilarious! The Hoosiers I got were WELL used, especially the fronts, so there's not too many runs left in them. I was just wanting to experiment without spending too much money. Kuhn, you're welcome to help me wear them completely out so I can have an excuse to get something fresher for the 24 hr at Dixie. I'm curious to see the difference from when you and I ran my Star Specs at Metrolina last time.

I'm gonna try the new Hankooks out in the first run group. But i'd be happy to take an Instructor run in your car during the second run group. Since Casino got enough last time

Street Prepared isn't listed either.
The entry list only shows classes that are active for the event. My money is on those classes being removed for the 24hr which screwed up the entry list for tonight's event.

Had a great time tonight. I hope to see this series repeated next year. I would make one suggestion though, please let novices run in the first group while the course is still daylight. Several of the novices tonight were dangerously off course, some multiple times.

Several of the novices tonight were dangerously off course, some multiple times. 10-4 to that! This probably wasn't as much of a problem at the earlier events, as daylight lasted longer. Something to consider. A couple of those novices who were so far off course were running Stock class, but had no passenger seats. (classing?) Therefore, an instructor was unable to ride with them and show the way. I'll also say - its wasn't just novices that went way off course. No Names.. LOLs

I know the guy you're talking about. He's a friend of a friend. He came up to register and I couldn't figure out what class he should be in without his seats in the car. Didn't have time to stop and try and figure it out. His first event so it wasn't like he was going to win. Knew we could re-class him later haha. Duckles made a good point though: Novice drivers should be REQUIRED to have a passenger seat in their car for Instructor ride-a-alongs. I second that motion. Or at least be able to quickly put a seat in the car for a ride-a-long. And I mean quickly. But I'm leaning towards making it mandatory for novices to have it. Just food for thought.

Well, I've run the night event a few times this summer and still could hardly keep my car on course. It was my first time running in complete darkness and I was sucking it up pretty bad. Sorry to all the course workers that had to pick up all my cones...lol!
It also didn't help that I got there late and didn't get to walk the course. I did turn my high-beams on for my last couple runs and that did help a little. Despite my sucky driving it was still super fun and hopefully it will help me for the late night/early morning runs at Dixie. Can't wait!

From what I've been told and heard the lighting is much better than what we have to work with at Metrolina.

Lighting is good there. Willie Stock ran his Formula Continental (i.e. no headlights) all through the night with no problem.

Correct on the entry list viewing last minute. Core workers will meet over the off season to figure up rule sets for 2013. A lot is changing our sport.
Thank you to everyone who came out to show support for this "series". Continue to show your support and we will hopefully do it again next season.

I would love to see the night series again next year. I think it was great for us novices since it gave us lots of looks at the same course in a laid back atmosphere. I would definitely try to make it up again. Thanks to everyone that made it happen!
