Hello!
Do you think the r6 compound is worth it for our events?
Unfortunately, A6s are not available in my size and I got a great deal on r6s
Basically, would the r6 compound that won't get much heat in them have more grip than a street performance tire? Or will they not be beneficial due to the insufficient heat?
Thanks

Yeah, there are people that run R6s for AutoX, but you'll probably need a co-driver to get heat in them. I'm available, if you're looking for a co-driver

I have been running the all year and they are working great. The first run would be nice to have the A6 but after that you are good to go.

I'm on BFG R1R's - same issue- they need heat. The first run isn't the stickiest, but as long as you don't have really long waits you're good. Co-driver does make a huge difference.
The other advantage? Tire life.. You'll get alot of runs out of them.

Thanks guys! just placed the order last night
Do these also need to be sprayed down before each run like the A6s?

No no... they NEED heat! www.hoosiertire.com/pdfs/tctR6_A6.pdf"For best performance the expected temperature range will vary from track to track. Generally, optimum traction will be generated when the pit lane temps show 180-200 degrees for the R6 in Roadrace applications, and 110-140 degrees for the A6 in an Autocross application."

v Thanks Kuhn, didn't see the spaying part.v Do these also need to be sprayed down before each run like the A6s? If Jon Wannagoo is your co-driver, spray your tires before you run.

^I think he was referring to the question about spraying them down with water.

^I think he was referring to the question about spraying them down with water. Correct. I see a lot of A6 folks doing this so wasn't sure if this is something I need to do as well .
