Just got back from Robbinsville and the town is buzzing about the upcoming hillclimb! This is the last Southeastern Hillclimb of the year... and we have entries from Florida to Massachusetts... 1/3 of all sign ups so far are first timers! Many new cars and classes are filling up for some real competitive racing.
- Street Unlimited has 8 entries and I know of 2 more that have not signed up yet!
- CSP has 5 sign-ups and I know 2 more coming
- the shootout we hoped for with John Finger, Cory Friedman, George Bowland and Heikki Rinta-Koski... is looking VERY good!
Event Sponsors are coming on board and prizes for drivers and workers will be announced soon. Many drivers have already landed a local sponsor and there are several Graham County Businesses who have contacted me and asked me if I could send them a driver to sponsor. (We recommend sponsorship in form of discounts of food, lodging or cash but less than $100... to keep it fun for all and insure a good value to local merchants.) If you are interested in being a sponsored car, please contact me. I'll send you names and contact info and you negotiate your own deal.
We have 43 entries as of today with another 14 or so that have made us aware they are coming. One fourth of all entries so far are road racers! The mix by regions looks like this :
CCR - a BUNCH
Alabama - 4
Atlanta - 3
SCR - 3
NCR -2
Tenn - 2
New England - 1
Milwaukee - 1
Dixie - 1
TVR - 1

Yes.. you read that right. There are drivers coming from New England and Wisconsin and Florida! Come on guys! Sign up and represent!
This is shaping up to be a great weekend of racing and fun in a community that appreciates hillclimbers and tourism. Please come and support the event so we can keep hillclimbing strong in the Southeast. It is our intent to use the success stories from these events in Robbinsville to open some MORE sites in the Southeast...
Look forward to seeing you in Robbinsville September 29 & 30 for Chasing the Dragon III for over 2 miles of "up hill faster-butt puckering-over the double yellow-flat out fun" with your hillclimb brothers and sisters! COME GET SOME... winter is coming. Make some memories NOW that will keep you warm all winter.
If I can help with registration or finding lodging, please contact me as soon as possible. SIGN UP today here : www.myautoevents.com/pls/mae/frmEventDetail.Show?psevent_id=13409
Still have a limited number of openings for workers with free lodging and food. When all worker positions are filled, we will be glad to have you and feed you but will not be able to cover lodging. Contact Vicki Eckerich if you are interested in working with Don Drennon and the great crew we have for these events! Cooler temps and leaves starting to change should make for a beautiful weekend. If you can't work, bring the family and come watch! There will be food and portable restrooms on site and safe spectator areas... beautiful nature trails, forests and a view from the observation deck you will not forget! Bring the family and come on up!
