Okay... your LAST NEWS update!
1. Saturday Night Dinner will be at the Huddle House at 610 Tallulah Road, Robbinsville, NC (when you enter town and come to light in front of drug store...turn LEFT toward Microtel and Huddle House is a mile on the right). They will be serving Bacon wrapped Sirloin - Workers are no charge. Drivers and crew will pay $12 at the door. They have indoor and out door covered seating. When was the last motorsports event you attended where workers were served STEAK?!?!?!
2. Friday Night Novice Meeting - 7 PM at the MICROTEL. This is a change... the meeting originally was scheduled for Civic Center but there is a HS football game that will make it too crowded there. You may find parking at the Microtel tight so please park across the street at Ingles and walk over.
3. Mark Seiler will be conducting a brief service Sunday Morning during quiet Hour for those who wish to attend. Drivers, workers and spectators are invited.
4. Steve has tested out the hard wire system for Timing and Scoring... strong signal over 2 miles of the new cable e will be running up the hill. This has proven to be THE most dependable system for hillclimbs and we are glad to have this problem SOLVED! IF you guys will keep your cars on the asphalt... you can expect a lot of runs. ; )
5. Are you curious what your class record is? Find out here :
www.dragonhillclimb.com/records/ Now, you know what you need to do... and if your name is already beside the class record? Go DEFEND IT!
6. Thanks to all who have worked so hard to make this event a success. Tony with accommodations, Vicki in Registration, Steve in finding solutions for Timing and communication problems, many drivers and workers coming up early to help set-up the hill for the event, Juanita and her staff from Graham County Transit that run our shuttle buses, Sean and Matt from Huddle House for food service, Billy and Bobby Ditmore and John and Valerie Fiel (Travel Tourism Board and Chamber) and the wonderful people in Graham County that offered to help ... from posting flyers, helping with parking, sponsoring cars, donation of time, jersey barriers, grandstands... we APPRECIATE you all so much! Be sure and remember our donations this year will again go to the Graham County Rescue Squad...over the last two events, CCR and our drivers donated $2000 to his team... some of the most well trained in the state and in need of much equipment for their territory which included the Tail of the Dragon. Last but not least, BIG THANKS to US Forest Services for trusting us to take care of their forests and help us hold a wonderful event! WE CAN'T WAIT!
