You can run any car you want in Pro, and you can go back and forth between Pro and open as much as you want. If you want (or you're Casino), you can even run a different car every event and still count towards Pro points.
As for the "first 3" question, that's yet to be seen. Last season we counted all runs, but I know most of the clubs around us have moved to only the first 3 in Pro class. It's a decision that Mike and AJ will have to make.

Question, what are CCR's rules on once you run Pro class during the season, do you HAVE to stay in Pro with the same car/class or can you go back to running in open. Also, can I get a confirmation that all your runs count and not just the first 3? If you are not sure if you would feel comfortable competing against the Pro's full time then it may not be the class for you .

Get a car that has a soft pax so I can be a better driver! Can someone please get Adam a ride in a well prepped car, so he stops complaining about PAX? I'm sure someone in NCR has a good car for you to drive.

Thanks guys. Casino came and ran with ETR once, he's one big car sleeper isn't he? lol
It's not that I don't feel comfortable running Pro, but I have 2 co-drivers, more or less, that I would like to run with(depending on which one comes with me of course). One is my dad who will definitely be running open STR in my car. The other is a friend of mine, we ran Pro last year with ETR in my car. He did really well winning a few times and I was happy with mid-pack for my first events in Pro.
I'm use to only the first 3 runs counting, so if this region decides to opt for that it wouldn't bother me. I do, however, find myself putting together all the elements of a course together on #4 or #5. That's probably par for the course, though.

Get a car that has a soft pax so I can be a better driver! Buy me Koni Yellows and some springs and you can co-drive all season if you want. I have the worst PAX of all. You won't move as fast as you do in the Subie, but you'll place near the top doing it

So he ordered them there and is shipping them here. which means they might not be legal ... something in the rules about tires having to be available to other drivers .... no "special" tires for select drivers .... or something like that edit: Anthony beat me to it ;D

Ok I have this question. They won't be available in all sizes to start. And will be heavy back ordered. So how can one guy who gets them from tire rack race but no one else can because they are back ordered

I'm not sure how that works ( Anthony might help here) but logic says that if they are available through the local dealers/tire rack , whether they're on back order or not they should be ok .... the Hankooks have quite often had a backorder problem, and they are ok ... but I'm pretty sure that if they aren't available through stateside dealers they won't be legal ...
as for knowing they're illegal and waiting for someone to protest me .......

They have to be available in the US by mid April to be eligible for National SCCA use.

true.... but they aren't at this time ... so not legal to use .... I think ... I'm sure there are plenty on here that can/will correct me if I'm wrong

Well lets just hope they will. John Wolfe said he preordered them. But when I called tire rack they didn't have any info on preorder.

When I preordered my ZIIs from Tire Rack in November, I was told to expect them around January 1st. Of course, no one in their right mind would've believed that, given the initial delivery projection of March/April.
About two weeks ago, I received an email from TR stating there was still no word from Dunlop, but they'd be ready in 2-3 weeks. Who knows what intel drives such notifications, if any at all.
I'm not holding my breath, but I hope they get here before Dixie NT. Worst case scenario, I can cancel my preorder with TR without penalty and get whatever is available by then.

do like I did ... since I don't expect any of the new ST tires to be available by the start of the season ( or even by the middle for that matter) I just went ahead and got another set of R1R's ... know product , and don't have to re-tune the suspension ... this way the new tires finally get here .. all the fast guys do the testing and I can then purchase whatever seems to be THE tire, when next I need new ones

Tires must be available in the US market in 5 different sizes to be eligible for SCCA Competition . No restriction on how many exactly just that they must be available from different retailers and available to the public . JDM Tires are NOT US DOT approved tires and are technically even illegal for street use .

I am back and will run a full season in STC with my Toyota Paseo. It is not really suited to that class because of economy gearing, but I must run what I have. Gotta order some tires.

I'm going to have some FUN! I now own Phil's old Conechaser crx project. I'm going to run it in February and maybe March CCR events in EP trim. Then it'll become an STS car to do some engine testing. I'm hoping to go to Nationals this year, but I don't know what I'll be driving yet. I'm hoping to talk someone into going because I love their car so much and think we would do well. I'm open to a lot of co drives this year. Especially seen as I have yet to begin rebuilding Casino's Miata.
